They say the greatest joy of cosplay lies in getting into character, and for this shoot of Ms. Tayama, there wasn't much hesitation from making the decision to producing the final images. The red wig serves as the visual anchor. To create an aloof aura that keeps people at a distance yet carries its own sense of story, besides tousling the hair into a bit of casual messiness, the most critical part was the texture of the clothing. I chose a black leather jacket with a sharp pattern, half-unzipped to expose the inner white slim-fit base shirt, making a sharp black-and-white contrast. Paired with a black choker and a fine gold chain around the neck, the overall colors are restrained yet eye-catching. The shooting time was specially chosen to be at night on the streets, and the set is exactly the type filled with the warmth of daily life yet carrying a slice of urban edge—the 'supermarket back door.'

The action of smoking was actually a prop assistance during the shoot. To complement the posture and that somewhat indifferent demeanor, we tried several different angles. The close-up camera position in the first image allows a clear view of the eye makeup details, while the posture of squatting next to the dry waste bin in the second image was actually intended to match the warm yellow lighting of the refuse station, reinforcing that street-style casual immediacy. The latter two images feature sitting on the ground steps and a bench respectively, showcasing how this leather jacket outfit feels under different postures through switching between different scales of shots. The texture of the jacket and the reflection of the stockings present distinct effects under strong side-lighting or top-lighting, which is also a major joy of atmospheric night photography.

In terms of equipment usage, this time a large-aperture lens was primarily used to blur the complex city background and the bokeh spots of passing vehicles, allowing the character subject to pop out from the neon-flashing environment. Although the lighting at night is highly complex, the ground uneven, and various passersby's gazes could affect the performance, this actually made me more and more relaxed as the shoot progressed. These photos didn't pursue ultimate refinement; instead, they retained a bit of hazy noise and a cool color palette, hoping to embed this 'cool' into everyday details. The city night always has its unique charm, and using such an image to briefly experience a completely different pace of life can be considered a way of looking at the bustling city before my eyes from a different perspective.
