I put a lot of effort into shooting this Vivian cosplay photoshoot. First was the long purple curly wig—just brushing, setting, and curling it took over an hour. Then came the fitting of the Elf ears, where I repeatedly tested the glue amount and placement so they wouldn't fall off. In terms of costume, the white ruffled shirt has rich layers, with meticulous detailing in the sleeve pleats; I carefully adjusted the angles of the black bow at the neckline and the tie at the back of the neck. To faithfully recreate the vibe of the game character Vivian from Zenless Zone Zero, I specially put together this black-and-white Gothic style outfit, where the skirt and waist design fit closely to the body. Pairing Black stockings with platform high heels accentuates the leg lines beautifully, though walking and posing in these shoes was definitely harder than expected—the heels are high and chunky, requiring strong lower-body core strength, making standing or kneeling for long periods quite tiring on the legs. On the day of the shoot, I used the purple-patterned long-handle umbrella and polearm props. Those props were quite heavy, especially the sword-like weapon, which took considerable effort to hold aloft with one hand; my arm was trembling slightly after a few sets. During the shoot, to match the character's cool and aloof demeanor, I did a lot of homework on my gaze and posture. You can't just hold the umbrella and weapon randomly; you have to balance them with the body and consider cast shadows. Those platform shoes aren't easy to wear in daily life, but for visual impact, I pushed through the strain on my ankles. We used telephoto and prime lenses during the shoot. In a white cyclorama studio, you must constantly pay attention to the reflector's position to prevent weird shadows on the face. Those shots sitting on the ground were actually taken on a hard floor—a very taxing pose. To find an angle that was comfortable yet conveyed the character's detachment, we placed a mat down and shot for a long time, leaving my knees red from the hard ground. The chair photo features me looking back toward the lens. What seems like a simple movement required repeated adjustments between the photographer and me to find the golden ratio between head and torso, showcase the back cutout and skirt details, and maintain that coolly glamorous expression all at once—my lower back almost gave out. Because the top lighting cast sharp contrast between the white background and dark outfit, controlling the lighting ratio was very strict in such a high-contrast environment. Fortunately, the photographer's lighting was spot-on, giving the final shots rich texture. I really love the composition of the chair shot; it shows off the open-back details and the leg extension, looking very elegant. This was truly an in-depth experience portraying Vivian. From preparing costumes and props to on-set pose coaching, every single step had to be well managed to achieve satisfying results. The final look captured great details—from the sheen of the white fabric to the sheer texture of the Black stockings. Cosplaying lets you truly connect with a character's core, which is always a special experience. I hope everyone can see the dedication that went into bringing this character to life.
