[Female Dancer cosplay] White-Gold Elegance Under the Moon in Identity V

This official photoshoot set features the white-gold dress look of the Female Dancer from Identity V. A lot of details were prepared before the shoot, and the overall experience is highly worth talking about.

First is this costume. The iconic golden crescent-shaped decoration on the chest is highly eye-catching, which, paired with the stand-collar off-shoulder design, beautifully presents the lines of the neck and collarbones. The golden vine and flower embroidery on the white base fabric, combined with the metal-textured structure at the waist resembling a corset, gives the overall styling excellent layering and erectness. The white sheer gauze water sleeves draping on both sides are very lightweight materials, adding a lot of flowing elegance during dynamic shooting without looking overly burdensome, perfectly reflecting this highly accurate cosplay.

In terms of makeup and hair, I chose a high-brightness golden short curly wig to restore the character, and the headpiece utilized semi-transparent white flowers and pearl patchworks. This lightweight embellishment neutralized the strong presence of the gold itself. For the makeup, focus was placed on the eyeliner and red lip makeup to give the gaze more focus in front of the lens. A small amount of glitter was added around the eyes; this kind of detail presents a great glossiness under specific lighting, making the overall look visually closer to that elegant yet slightly detached temperament in the original concept art.

Regarding the scene, we chose a sofa with European vintage carving. The upholstery featuring a cyan-blue base with golden patterns formed an exceptionally beautiful warm-and-cold color contrast with the white dress. The shooting lighting didn't use flat fill-light but emphasized the main light source instead, letting the shadows of the body and sofa project directly onto the background wall. This strong contrast between light and dark does an excellent job of creating a narrative feel. In fact, many minor challenges were encountered during the actual shooting process, such as how to arrange the skirt hem in a sitting posture, and the metal corset at the waist would press slightly when sitting down, requiring me to adjust my posture at any time. However, looking at it from another perspective, this physical constraint instead helped me find the character's feeling much faster.

As for the use of props, this look cooperated with two different sets of hand-held props. The first set is a small golden object, which needs to be held by pinching the sharp corner at the end while adjusting the bending angle of the arm to prevent the prop from looking unbalanced in the frame. The second set is a golden jewelry box paired with a pearl chain. When shooting this prop, I experimented with the perspective of lowering my head to gaze into the box, which felt better at embodying the character's demeanor of being immersed in her own world. In terms of action scheduling, the photographer also gave me plenty of space. Whether propping my head with one hand, leaning sideways against the sofa, or folding hands over my knees, adaptations were conducted based on the tailoring characteristics of the clothing. The lazy yet dignified posture in the final photos largely benefited from these meticulous action adjustments. The color palette of this outfit heavily tests the texture of the lighting. If the exposure is wrong, white and gold can easily look greasy or flat dead white, but fortunately, the highlight control and shadow transition on-site were relatively smooth, ultimately retaining the satin texture and metallic luster of the costume. I scrolled through the works after the shoot was completed, feeling that the overall set truly captured the character's gorgeous yet slightly serene feel, delivering a successful Identity V cosplay session.
