This time, I'm bringing you a Cosplay photoshoot of Hu Tao cosplay's \"Spring Peach Smile\" outfit from NARAKA: BLADEPOINT. As a highly popular character in the game, Hu Tao's design is naturally filled with elements combining Chinese-style cosplay and sweetness, while this \"Spring Peach Smile\" skin maxes out winter warmth and playful charm. Wearing this outfit feels as though it genuinely sweeps away winter's gloom.
First, let's talk about the design of this costume. The overall outfit utilizes a vibrant crimson modified Chinese-style miniskirt with very festive color tones. Thick white plush trimming is stitched onto the collar, cuffs, and skirt hem, which not only offers visual warmth but also feels fantastic in hand during the shoot. The skirt hem features several 3D cat paw print patterns, which, combined with the white plush pom-poms on the gloves, pushes girly charm to the extreme. To recreate character traits, I wore gray-and-white gradient plush animal ears hairpieces and an extremely fluffy big tail. The tail has a massive amount of fur, which really required careful handling when posing—making sure it draped naturally by my side without looking overly bulky placed high demands on positioning and the photographer's quick captures.
For hair and makeup, twin braids are a standard staple to match Hu Tao's image. I styled both sides into small hair buns embellished with red cords and plush pom-poms; the black hair contrasted sharply with the red hair ornaments, catching eyes immediately. The base makeup aimed for clean translucency, with focus placed on eye makeup details—enlarging eye shapes to make my gaze appear livelier, thereby presenting the character's quirky, clever feel before the lens.
This photoshoot captured three different scene atmospheres in total. The first photo features a classic kneeling posture, pairing crossed thumbs with both hands to emulate a cute pose of a cat paw begging for pats. This angle displays upper body outfit details and the fluffy big tail wonderfully, with eye contact direct to the camera for full playful charm. For the second photo, I chose to stand on an elevated red-lacquered wooden platform, stepping on a stair with one foot; this composition is very open and extended, showcasing full-body proportions and leg lines under the miniskirt completely, which, paired with matching white plush leg warmers and white platform shoes, shifts the visual gravity upward for a sleek, slender silhouette. The third photo was shot in a night-view street under colorful koi-shaped lanterns. Holding a candied hawthorn prop in one hand, standing lively on one leg with arms spread open, complemented by the flying fish lanterns, it successfully built a joyous atmosphere of strolling through a night temple fair.
The application of set design and props is also a highlight of this photoshoot. Beyond the red-lacquered wooden platform, some scenes incorporated translucent oil-paper umbrellas and layered pink ribbons, with post-processed golden light effects, fireworks, and semi-transparent glows added to foster a dreamy festival atmosphere—resembling the dazzling lighting effects when casting ultimate skills in the game. Lighting was actually complex on the shooting day, finding proper white balance and rim lighting among warm traditional lantern light, cool neon fish lantern glow, and golden effect lights tested our team's synergy, but fortunately, the final images achieved the expected dimensional richness.
In fact, before preparing this photo set, I studied character personality carefully: she possesses both the cool, mysterious foundation of the Tsuchimikado family and the enthusiasm and mischief demonstrated in everyday life. The \"Spring Peach Smile\" image closely fuses Chinese-style cosplay elements, winter festival joy, and the cuteness of a Kemonomimi girl and little fox spirit, striving to show a vivid, lively character through lens work and costume details. Though the shooting process was somewhat arduous—the plush costume was rather heavy and the tail needed constant adjustments to avoid costume slips—the scenery was stunning enough that the final results brought immense fulfillment. As a fan creation derived from a game character, I hope this set of photos conveys that warmth and beauty belonging to winter to everyone.
