The UV rays on the beach at noon are extremely strong, and shooting this set of Sea Salt Specialty Drink looks under the blazing sun really tested our patience, from makeup and styling to location selection.

The focus of the makeup this time was on a bright and translucent eye look. Since the Barmaid is interpreting this theme at the seaside, the overall base makeup had to be clean and seamless to withstand the highly saturated direct sunlight. Meanwhile, to keep the wig fluffy yet neat under the straw hat, matte hairspray was used to carefully secure the stray hairs before going out. When such a complex hairstyle is paired with a hat, it can easily turn into a disaster if the wind is too strong, so shooting by the sea requires quickly locking into position during intervals when the waves and wind are calm.

The costume features a mint green cropped top that perfectly aligns with the "Sea Salt Specialty Drink" character setting, with a modified pattern featuring a large bow and lace trim patchwork at the chest. The bottom part is a short skirt with a white base adorned with starfish and seashell accessories, with a golden chain hanging at the waist. The waist-baring design of the top beautifully flatters the body proportions while looking refreshing and light in the summer scenery. The lightweight tulle material of the skirt hem creates a semi-transparent visual effect under backlighting, elongating the overall lines.

Two main props were prepared for the shoot: one is a semi-transparent blue small bucket filled with glass-bottled cold drinks, ice cubes, and lemon slices; the other is a simply styled transparent glass bottle. The choice of props combined with the ocean-style elements of the costume gives the entire frame a sense of agility belonging to a summer manor atmosphere.

From a perspective of Cosplay photography, this set of photos mainly utilized natural light with a combination of backlighting and side lighting to simulate that translucent feel of a slightly salty sea breeze. In the first image, carrying the small bucket and relying on the reflection of the sea breeze and sunlight, a relatively relaxed and lazy state was captured; while the "cheers" gesture directly facing the camera in the third image aims to convey the character's vitality through eye contact and movement.

Regarding this seaside interpretation, I think the most interesting part was that the accessories on the costume easily got covered in fine sand on the beach, so after shooting each shot setup, the props had to be cleaned all over again. However, seeing the luster of the sunlight shining on the white lace and seashells in the final photos makes all the preparation feel worthwhile.

The entire photo set avoids excessive, heavy post-processing filters, preserving the natural color variations of the beach as much as possible. With refreshing mint green and pure white as the dominant tones, it showcases a lightweight yet slightly tipsy state of the character. Perfecting the details of the cosplay work I believe in is always the thing I focus on most before every photoshoot.
