From the moment this blue-and-gold uniform went on, I could feel the premium, slightly heavy texture of the fabric. Working with the photographer @热野 this time, he is truly skilled at capturing scenes with a European classical atmosphere. Whether it was the wooden gold-inlaid indoor mirror surfaces or the soft light filtering through the stained glass windows in the church, they all elevated the texture of this Cosplay photoshoot to a higher level.
Putting on this gold-trimmed blue hat, alongside this head of light blue gradient white hair, I specially rendered the makeup with a translucent, luminous texture. Paired with the blue colored contacts, I hoped to maximally restore the character's demeanor that is both majestic and carries a touch of playfulness. There are many details on the costume: the bow tie flower, the large water-drop-shaped sapphire pendant, and the golden piping on the cuffs—each area needed to be checked before shooting to ensure no deformation.
The shots by the indoor mirror surfaces were very interesting; the composition used reflections to create an extension, as if the character were observing another version of herself. Meanwhile, the one on the church pulpit, when raising a hand to mimic some classic movements, the texture of the gloves paired with the stained glass behind completely maximized the atmosphere. Of course, what satisfied me the most was the full-body photo standing on the elevated balcony of the European-style castle.
For those large-scene shots on the balcony, standing on that guardrail was actually quite high. I had to balance extending my posture and maintaining body equilibrium while holding the prop gun and long sword; I was truly a bit nervous during the shoot. But the resulting effect was indeed amazing. The full-body blue coat, white shorts, black strapped thigh ring, alongside the white ruffled slouch socks and deep blue platform shoes—the proportions of this entire ensemble looked exceptionally clean and sharp in camera. As for that slender sword, it is a specially customized prop, and its blue ribbon had a very natural sway in the wind, adding a dynamic sense of beauty to the overall frame.
The scene finally shifted to the garden, embraced by green foliage and pink and white blossoms, making the character's gaze appear much softer. Dissimilar to the majesty of the previous grand scenes, this part leaned closer to an everyday, relaxed state.
There is a line in the post caption that I particularly love: "My story has drawn to a close, and what opens next is our story." When deciding to execute this Genshin Impact cosplay setup, I felt a deep connection to this phrase. In the original lore, she endured too many ups and downs, but ultimately shed her heavy burdens to walk toward the daily routine and mundane warmth belonging to mortals. I feel this text is not only written for the character herself but also for those of us who love her.
Therefore, when shooting this set of photos, I deliberately avoided making overly dramatic or exaggerated expressions. Most of the time, I stood there or leaned gently against the railing, presenting myself with a calm, confident, and slightly lazy posture. There was no need to widen my eyes or laugh out loud in every single cut; that calm, serene temperament was instead more fitting for the character's core at this stage.
This shoot took a long time from preparing costumes and trying out makeup to selecting locations, but the moment I saw the final cuts, I felt all the dedication was completely worthwhile. The photographer's composition was also very clever, utilizing architectural perspective and mirror reflections so the character possessed tension in the frame without appearing abrupt. Especially for the full-body rooftop shot holding a gun used as the cover, that precise second where a light breeze lifted the hair strands and sword tassels was captured perfectly, capturing the finest details of Anime-style photography.
After shooting this set, I deeply felt that the plasticity and scalability of this costume are truly high. Whether it is a slightly dramatic freeze-frame or the simplest, most natural turn-back glance, a suitable method of expression can always be found. I hope that when looking at this photo set, everyone can feel the unique character temperament we wished to convey, possessing both a proud side and a gentle side in daily life, proving the depth of Furina cosplay.
