This set consists of Convention photos captured on-site at the event. Because convention venues have high foot traffic and messy ambient ceiling lighting that makes highlights difficult to control, we brought high-power outdoor strobe lights to overpower and darken the background. Floor reflections certainly posed quite a few challenges during shooting, but when the light hit the right angles, it actually captured the texture of the White stockings with crisp clarity.

Because the petticoat under this maid outfit is quite voluminous, many details required careful attention while shooting. The blue wig was pre-trimmed at a dedicated styling shop so that the curvature of the bangs and sides perfectly framed my face, creating a cohesive overall look with the headpiece. The costume itself is packed with details, such as the black ribbons on the chest, ruffles on the collar and cuffs, the heavy black voluminous skirt, and the multi-layered white lace apron. Only after thorough ironing do these pleats look dimensional and sharp under the lights without appearing wrinkled.

To accentuate the silhouette of this outfit, lifting the skirt hem is a great pose. However, the force must be carefully controlled—slightly bending the wrist and pinching the edges with fingertips creates the most flattering flare. For example, that skirt-lifting shot took several angle adjustments to simultaneously reveal the White stockings inside, a hint of the thigh line, and luminous highlights along the stocking folds, which really tested the photographer's timing. Another jumping photo was a snapshot; to capture a floating sensation, we tried several times, coordinating jump height, skirt flutter angle, and leg posture. In contrast, the shot standing on one foot holding a tray was surprisingly effortless.

Because this is cosplay, one's demeanor must stay faithful to the character. It shouldn't be too sweetly smiling nor overly stiff, but carry a subtle sense of detachment and intense focus. Amidst the noisy convention crowd, I did my best to immerse myself in that mindset. In fact, I brought plenty of maintenance tools for this shoot, such as lint rollers and safety pins, since walking around the venue easily soils the fabric and picks up dust at the hem. Keeping the dress pristine at all times not only presents the best state to the audience, but also reflects a professional attitude toward my own cosplay standards.

Although I had to touch up my makeup twice and constantly watch out for photobombing passersby in the background, the overall results were very satisfying, perfectly capturing this unique convention experience.
