This March 7th shoot had been in the works for quite a while; from pattern making to wig styling, every detail required thorough verification. March 7th from Honkai: Star Rail usually projects a cheerful, lively, and delightfully straightforward maiden vibe, but I wanted to capture different facets of her character this time, infusing mature and effortless touches into the scene designs.
The costume boasts abundant details. The white shirt is paired with a blue capelet crafted from holographic fabric, which refracts shifting tones under studio lighting. The blue waist sash, black leather pouch, and pixel-style camera prop matched my expectations for fidelity. To tie the look together, I selected bright blue colored contacts and layered the pink wig carefully so it would sit naturally beneath the lights.
The first set took place in a soft-light studio adorned with flowers. Pink and purple drapes combined with floor lights created a dreamy atmosphere. This sequence focused on capturing her playful side; making a peace sign seems simple, but getting the folds of the capelet to drape just right required numerous adjustments to my arm angle.
The second and third sets moved to the bar counter. Deep blue walls, rows of liquor bottles in the background, and violet-blue neon illumination instantly lent the space a cinematic flair. Sitting on the counter with crossed legs proved to be the ultimate test of balance throughout the entire shoot. Wearing White stockings and high heels, maintaining smooth leg contours required engaging my core and legs firmly to keep an upright posture. Posing as if holding a camera or resting my chin in my hands under cool-toned lights, my gaze shifted toward composed confidence and subtle detachment.
The fourth set was in the gaming room, which is personally my favorite. Leaning back in the gaming chair with my legs resting on the desk, surrounded by neon strips and mechanical keyboards, the theme was pure, unfiltered freedom—resonating effortlessly with March 7th's casual spirit. The combination of White stockings and black heels was highlighted brilliantly in this posture; to avoid looking flimsy, I leaned back intentionally to generate languid visual tension. A finger-gun gesture paired with a knowing glance perfectly echoed her iconic line, "I'm not an idiot!"
The final set featured holding a plushie on a red sofa under subdued dark purple lighting, letting the mood quiet down. The plushie was a prop prepared specifically for this set; looking down at it, I genuinely felt the tender gentleness within her character.
The entire shoot ran from morning until late at night—outfit changes, makeup touch-ups, and lighting adjustments made every shutter click a testament to teamwork. Whether in the dreamy floral set or the cyberpunk gaming room, the goal was to extract the unique texture of each space. Though exhausting, seeing the final photos made every bit of effort completely worth it.
