[Evelyn cosplay] Composed moments in front of the Zenless Zone Zero booth

At the CICF convention site, through the Sidande light array and walls of iron wire grids, this set of Zenless Zone Zero Evelyn convention photos finally took shape. Compared to solid-color studio shoots, the complex lighting and background of the exhibition actually enhanced the character's sense of realism.

Let's start with the presentation of the costume itself. The design of the upper body accurately captures the character's visual focal points: the white halter high-neck sleeveless top uses black semi-sheer mesh fabric to break the monotony of plain white, while creating an interlaced texture with the black leather suspenders. The golden floral bowtie at the neck, embellished with a pearl-like round button, adds a touch of elegant detail to the tough outfit. To avoid blank space on the arms, dark brown fingerless gloves and red color-blocked arm guards provide great visual balance, with glove stitching details and fastening buckles closely matching the setting.

The leather pants on the lower body are one of the parts I cared most about in this look. Under the convention spotlights, the leather material naturally reflects light, preventing the black texture from looking dull. Functional accessories at the waistband—such as metal zippers, rings, and yellow tassels—keep it from looking as plain as ordinary tight pants. Paired with pointed metallic armored combat boots, the overall sharpness and assertiveness come through strongly.

The booth setup on the day of the shoot gave me plenty of room to express the character. Heavy cast-iron chains, vintage CRT televisions, and stacked EVA-themed storage boxes nearby created a dense industrial atmosphere throughout the scene. In particular, that thick iron chain, originally part of the display, became an excellent dynamic prop in the hands of our photographer. Whether holding it to make pulling motions or coiling it beside me as seen in the photos, it added immense visual tension to the frame.

I especially love the angle of sitting on the white folding chair in the picture—the one selected as the cover. At that time, the photographer suggested I sit casually with legs stretched and crossed, while draping the red coat beside the chair. Because the leather pants naturally develop creases when seated, combined with the golden boot tips, it visually elongates the leg lines. With one hand resting on the back of the chair and the other naturally laid flat, looking away from the camera kept the state relaxed. The standing set featured the red coat draped over the shoulders to create a cape-like feel, paired with holding the iron chain to emphasize the character's composed and effortless demeanor.

In fact, recreating a character with numerous belts and metal accessories at a convention puts the coordination of body language and props to the test. If the iron chain simply hangs loosely, the posture looks stiff. To turn it into an aggressive weapon or a decorative piece wrapping around the body, wrist strength and the center of gravity must be readjusted. You cannot merely strike a pose; you must believe that these heavy iron chains are truly part of yourself.

Although there was heavy foot traffic at CICF, we tried our best to capture clean background angles in front of the booth, incorporating the industrial structure and lighting of the background to preserve the authentic feel of the exhibition while highlighting the subject.

The overall result nicely matches the elegant yet hardcore atmosphere of the character Evelyn. Post-processing didn't apply excessive flares or exaggerated filters, striving to keep the texture of the black leather pants and the pristine white of the top within a natural light-and-shadow environment.
