Putting on this Corin cosplay outfit and adjusting the wig and eye makeup, the bustling noise of the convention crowd suddenly felt distant.
The twintail wig took a lot of time to style to keep it from getting messed up by the wind. The matching hair accessories feature two cross buttons that need to be clipped firmly at the roots of the wig. To faithfully restore the character's hairstyle, I pre-sectioned and volumized the hair in advance so it wouldn't cling flatly to the scalp. The mint green tone of the hair tends to look cooler under convention lighting, so during the shoot, we deliberately adjusted the lighting toward natural light for a cleaner color rendition.
This black-and-white maid outfit has many noteworthy details. The row of white button decorations at the neckline is actually fastened with Velcro for easy wearing, though I had to be careful not to let them drop. The chunky metal chain at the waist is a crowning touch; it jingles crisply with every step, making the character's mechanical feel all the more vivid. The white jagged ruffles along the skirt hem accented with rivets are quite a sharp design, but for comfortable shooting, the underside material was softened so it wouldn't scratch the skin.
The shoes are the soul of this outfit—the platform soles and multiple rows of metal buckles are exceptionally eye-catching. These shoes carry noticeable weight when walking, so maintaining a stable center of gravity during standing poses was essential to keep leg lines from looking stiff. To accentuate the leg contours, I selected a pair of non-reflective black over-the-knee socks that seamlessly transitioned into the boots for this Stockings cosplay. The brown teddy bear crossbody bag slung over my back is also an iconic item; in fact, the bag has substantial weight of its own, so during turns and look-back poses, I had to balance the shoulder strap to keep it from sliding and ruining the outfit's sharp silhouette.
The gray industrial-style shipping containers and vibrant green elements in the booth background matched my cool-toned styling perfectly. The actual shoot relied heavily on the photographer's on-site guidance—such as advising me on shoulder angles to achieve the most natural glare on metal buckles, or how the skirt should subtly flutter to show distinct layers. This chemistry with the photographer determines whether a photo set can convey the character's signature calm and focused temperament. As for expressions, exaggerated smiles weren't needed; maintaining a cool, relaxed composure was far more important to fit the crisp, cool aura of this attire in 2D Cosplay.
To complement the character's brisk coolness, I experimented with various poses before the lens, such as natural leg placement while seated or the shoulder height difference when leaning on props with one hand. These micro-expressions and body language are far more challenging than merely displaying garments, requiring constant adjustments to find the most comfortable and lore-accurate angle. Between takes, I regularly checked whether the wig and accessories had shifted, ensuring every detail remained intact the instant the shutter clicked.
After wrapping up, I felt a lingering excitement. Every time I slip into a new styling and makeup, it feels like a fleeting touch with the character's soul. The temperature of the hall and ambient noise fade away the moment the shutter is pressed, leaving only the moment where the distance between myself and the character shrinks. Across this entire photo set from Zenless Zone Zero, the meticulous preparation from wig to boots made me thoroughly satisfied with these Convention photos. I deeply enjoy every interaction before the camera, because there I can step away from my everyday self to fully express the design and emotion of this look. The shooting process went smoothly, preserving both the character's toughness and delicate refinement within these frames.
