Today, this batch of photos for Fiammetta from Arknights is finally ready to share! When I first decided to cosplay this character, I honestly felt quite a bit of pressure. Fiammetta's outfit has remarkable layering—the black leather duster coat forms a stark, crisp contrast against the white shirt. To capture that battle-hardened texture, we incorporated plenty of weathering details onto the garment. The crimson neckerchief, the attached comms unit, and the sniper identifier ribbon across the chest are truly the soul of the look. Furthermore, this massive sniper lance is genuinely hefty to hold; modeling and painting it took considerable time, with the mechanical structure faithfully replicating the original design's metallic sheen.
The wig was a major highlight of this styling, featuring a gradient Red hair cosplay palette that transitions from pale blonde-white at the crown down to vivid bright crimson. The two red feather-like tufts atop the head were sculpted bit by bit using hair wax and styling wands, requiring numerous bobby pins anchored into the bun to keep them standing erect. In makeup, red contact lenses paired with specialized forehead markings aimed to capture her stern, battle-weary temperament. The base makeup was kept crisp and clean, utilizing contouring shadows to lend facial lines sharper three-dimensional definition.
This shoot spanned two distinct environments. The first was a low-key close-up intended to emphasize pre-battle pressure, where directional light created rich specular reflections across the leather coat. Because the environment was dim, we used off-camera flashes and reflectors to carve out chiseled facial contours, adjusting the interaction between the rifle stock and arm multiple times to ensure the weapon commanded immense presence. The second shot took place inside an anime convention hall, where a seated composition better displayed the lower body wardrobe. The black pleated skirt paired with leg harness straps and tall black boots balanced tactical utility with mobility. Sitting in this gear was actually exhausting because the numerous pouches and gear on my back and waist made finding a comfortable resting position difficult, yet I held firm tension to preserve frame aesthetics.
Sporting this full kit was physically taxing—holding the heavy lance for extended periods quickly made my arms ache. The weight not only challenged physical stamina, but also tested postural stability; the slightest tremor could disrupt visual balance. The paint and weathering on the rifle required careful handling to prevent scuffs while posing. Yet through holding these stances and adjusting fine details, I felt a deeper appreciation for Fiammetta's calm precision on the battlefield. From custom tailoring and prop fabrication to on-site coordination, every stage demanded patience. For instance, the placement of the tactical belt and waist gear required repeated cross-referencing to achieve logical visual cohesion. Fortunately, the overall mood matched expectations, especially in the hall shot, where blurred convention lights cultivated a dynamic blend of sci-fi and reality.
The day was quite warm, and roaming the venue fully geared in leather worked up a sweat in no time. But that is par for the course with location shoots—persevering is part of delivering great visuals. The makeup artist constantly helped touch up powder as the heat rose, for which I am immensely grateful. Though demanding, seeing the cold, dangerous edge captured in the finished frames made the fatigue evaporate. The gear has countless nuances, such as thigh straps that easily shift while walking, requiring resetting between takes to keep the look razor-sharp. To honor her persona, I wove in alert gun-handling stances ready to fire, imbuing static photos with kinetic tension. I hope to tackle more hardcore tactical characters in the future and continue advancing my prop-crafting skills.
