[Nico cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero offline event convention photos sharing

The convention photos from last month's Zenless Zone Zero offline event were dragged out until today to be organized and posted. This time I cosplayed Nicole. The overall costume design is very recognizable, but it is also full of challenges in terms of details. The preliminary preparation took about two weeks, and from fabric selection to accessory assembly, almost everything was polished bit by bit by myself. The outer garment is a black cropped leather jacket. To show that stiff yet casual texture, I specially chose faux leather material, and the cuffs feature a classic black-and-white color-blocking treatment. The inner gray crop top is printed with a special geometric letter pattern. To restore this tight and slim-fitting cut, I tried several versions. The edges of the black mini shorts on the lower body are sewn with a circle of white plush, making it look more layered when worn.

The belts at the waist and leg straps were the highlight of this prop-making process. Not only do they require a large number of metal buckles and rivets, but they also need to match bright yellow dot decorations. To ensure they don't loosen while walking, adjusting the tightness bit by bit takes a lot of time every time I wear them. The black choker around the neck paired with a heart-shaped pendant, plus the yellow heart earrings on the ears, these accessories echo the character's overall style very well. As for the wig, I trimmed the side bangs, tied it into pink twin tails, and then clipped on the black horn-shaped hair accessories and bows. These hair accessories were fixed to the hairpin bases with hot glue to ensure they wouldn't fall off during exaggerated movements. The makeup highlights green contact lenses and dots a mole under the eye; the overall makeup is mainly translucent and natural, paired with pink lip gloss. The nails were also deliberately painted in multi-colored contrasting tones, and such detailed embellishments often greatly enhance the overall restoration.

This time, I specially brought the green rabbit-shaped bag. This prop can be said to be the soul of the outfit. Paired with the black leash, it was particularly eye-catching while walking around the exhibition hall. On the day of the shoot, the crowd in the hall was very large, and the on-site lighting was quite complex. Fortunately, the photographer's candid shooting skills were great, using a large aperture and natural on-site light to create a translucent texture. Picture 1 is a half-body shot using a standing posture with the left hand making a peace sign and the right hand on the waist. To make the gaze look more vivid, I turned my face slightly and looked up at the lens; this angle just highlights the details of the choker and heart pendant on the chest, while also perfectly showcasing the waist lines. Picture 2 is a posture of extending the arms upward, mainly to show the horizontal lines of the overall costume and the belt-strap structure at the waist. The arc of the pink long hair floating when turning around is actually very hard to capture, and we shot it repeatedly before getting a satisfying one.

Picture 3 is a dynamic snapshot of a kicking jump. To showcase the platform Martin boots and leg-warmers with holes, this movement requires good balance. The black leather straps on the thighs are most prone to displacement during motion, so their position had to be readjusted after every jump to ensure the captured visual effect is clean and neat. Picture 4 features a winking expression plus hand gestures, completed in a relatively relaxed atmosphere, paired with the plush decoration on the edge of the shorts, showcasing the character's lively side. The shoes chosen are black platform Martin boots, which can not only elongate the leg proportions but also provide enough support when stepping on the venue floor for a long time.

Actually, cosplaying characters with a lot of belt and strap elements at a convention is most afraid of troublesome dressing/undressing and props falling off. This time, during design and sewing, internal hidden snaps and Velcro were specially added to balance the restoration of appearance and the convenience of wearing as much as possible. The on-site lighting hitting the black leather jacket produces a great reflective effect, contrasting sharply with the gray inner layer, making the silhouette of the overall styling clearer. Overall, the on-site shooting this time went very smoothly, capturing many satisfying moments and verifying the stability of this costume under dynamic conditions. I look forward to bringing this styling to different scenes to try more shooting styles in the future.
