[Lumine Cosplay] A School-Style One-Day Date with Genshin Impact's Traveler

Today I arranged a relaxed and pleasant shoot day for myself, centered on a summer look dominated by blue and white colors. To match the character's light and nimble qualities, preparations were made from the wig to the outfit and accessories. The golden wig needed to avoid looking dry, so the ends were thinned and slightly curled, while the small blue feather and white flower hair ornaments were reinforced to ensure they wouldn't shift during the shoot.

For makeup, I focused on defining the eye contours. I chose amber contacts close to my natural eye color to show a natural, warm look under changing light. Eye makeup followed the eye shape with straight eyeliner and light earth-toned eyeshadow, keeping the overall look energetic yet layered. For lips, I used a glossy nude-pink lip tint to boost radiance while highlighting the school vibe of the sailor suit.

As for clothing, I chose a cropped waist-baring sailor suit paired with a greyish-blue pleated skirt. This high-waisted design visually lengthens leg proportions, and combined with an exaggerated big blue bow at the collar, concentrates focus on the upper body. The skirt's drape and crisp pleats are crucial for JK uniform style; I ironed it before leaving to ensure sharp, smooth lines from the side. Paired with classic white mid-calf socks and black loafers, the overall look fits the setting while remaining suitable for daily outings. The cropped waist design was a bit cold during outdoor shoots, but for the refreshing overall style, the trade-off was well worth it.

The shoot was split into daytime and evening sessions. During the day, we chose an indoor reading corner and beverage area; the blue-green special drink matched the color scheme of the sailor suit and felt natural in hand. Reading You Can Have Emotions, But Don't Take Them to Heart made me feel quiet and serene, giving the shot a relaxed ambiance. By night, street decorations added great atmosphere, with warm yellow string lights hanging from tree branches creating a cozy scene. We tried several camera angles on the street—sitting quietly by a fountain resting a chin on hand, standing by greenery holding a small black bag, or playfully raising a hand in front of an installation with big eyes—each capturing different emotions.

As a cosplay enthusiast, I always try to combine a character's setting with real-world scenarios. Although this school-style look lacks overly gorgeous elements, such a clean and crisp outfit tests control over hair and makeup details even more. Sometimes it's not about turning into the character, but roaming reality with the character's temperament, which I feel is a more natural form of expression. Looking back at these final shots, the sweat that day wasn't wasted, and the outfit's comfort proved durable through post-processing.

I must thank my companion for patient guidance during this shoot, repeatedly trying different light and shadow feels even for the same background and angle. Multi-scene shoots like this are physically draining, but seeing the finished product makes everything worthwhile.
