【Sandrone Cosplay】Shooting Log for Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail - Image 1

This look was actually shot a while ago. While flipping through my photo album, I noticed how comfortable the original lighting and colors felt, so I decided to organize them today to share my overall styling logic and the photoshoot atmosphere.

Starting with the head details: I chose a light flaxen wig with long straight hair and bangs, creating a soft look that matches the character's color scheme. To complement the hair color, the eye makeup wasn't heavy; instead, tightlining and extending the outer eye corners shaped the eyes, leaving the focus on the pupil color. I wore blue cosplay contact lenses with great translucency, which, paired with a natural lip shade, made the eyes look focused and bright. This makeup style is quite versatile, performing well both outdoors and in studio settings.

Next are the costume details. The overall structure has complex layering. The neck feature is a wide black collar edged with metal borders, centered with a striking diamond-shaped red gemstone that serves as a major visual focus across the chest. The upper body features an off-the-shoulder white design with neat vertical pleats down the front, complemented by a diagonal red panel. The cuffs are quite special—a dark base decorated with red ruffles or wavy edges, adding motion to the costume. White short gloves were worn on the hands, looking natural while holding props and adding to the neat, elegant maid outfit vibe.

For props, the large beige fan in my hands has prominent pleats; holding it in front or doing subtle blocking poses adds rich layering and depth to the shot. For the background, I skipped complex outdoor settings in favor of a simple fabric sofa with cushions. The light-colored vertical texture of the sofa, paired with soft indoor lighting, clearly highlights skin tone and costume texture. Using a ring light also created distinct circular reflections in my pupils, enhancing facial dimension and making my gaze look clearer.

As mentioned, these aren't photos taken today, but reviewing past pictures brings out the satisfaction this cosplay hobby provides. Every costume, every wig, and every minor makeup adjustment offers a different interpretation of a character design. Though this isn't my profession, completing a look and capturing photos I love makes all the time spent on sewing details, hair and makeup, and light positioning feel entirely worthwhile.

Beyond the outfit itself, the real test of this look was capturing the overall ambiance through photography. I avoided exaggerated poses, relying instead on subtle eye contact and small hand gestures—like using a gloved hand to gently rest under the chin, which instantly adds elegance. Additionally, this vintage, courtly style costume with subtle drape and pleating produced better photographic texture than expected.

Regarding photo editing, I preserved the natural skin texture and tones as much as possible, doing light contrast optimizations to achieve an atmospheric feel without over-smoothed distortion. The metallic buckles and red gem reflections were also slightly highlighted. Although this is just a simple indoor shoot record, I personally love the relaxed, casual vibe captured here.

As for the character lore, Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail inspired the overall design direction, referencing costume ideas from these fantasy games. Maintaining a cohesive style without breaking visual continuity is one of the core joys of cosplay. Being able to present a story-rich static image through one's own interpretation and lens work is deeply fulfilling in itself.
