When shooting this Iuno cosplay, from choosing the outfit materials to styling the blue and white wig, I made quite a few trade-offs during prep. Since the character's lore states she was "born during an eclipse," I maintained a rigorous sense of anticipation regarding how the overall color palette and accessories would turn out. Today, I'm sharing the final photo results and detail experience of this cosplay, and chatting about the pros and cons of shooting this look at the anime convention.

Let's first talk about the design details of the outfit. The top combines white fabric with metallic gold accessories, including a wide collar around the neck and 3D shoulder/arm armor. It actually has some weight to it, but when specific highlights hit, the metal reflections really restore that sacred oracle vibe of the character. The wig was my highest priority; I deliberately chose long blue hair with white highlights, complemented by the feather-shaped gold hairpiece on top, giving the head styling much more visual depth. The contact lens color was also specially selected to match the blue hair color and venue lighting. Many people at the venue asked if my eyes got too dry; since the shoot lasted quite a long time, carrying eye drops was definitely necessary.

The location for this shoot was a fairly standard indoor anime convention venue with grayish-white reflective floor tiles. To fit the character's cool and ethereal atmosphere, I specifically laid out a white long-pile plush rug on the floor. Standing barefoot on this floor was actually pretty cold! To showcase the white leg bandages and gold leg rings in the design, I had to ditch lower wear and go barefoot on camera. The star tattoo on the left foot was applied later. Taking photos in such lightweight attire at an anime convention feels flowy and makes moving around effortless—without the exhaustion of heavy armor—but the downside is getting cold easily, so I had to wrap myself in a coat right after a few shots.

However, the biggest challenge in pulling off this look was finding the right seated poses. Since I spent most of the time sitting on the carpet on the floor, I had to adjust my posture to make my body lines look slender and stretched, while properly revealing the bandages, leg rings, and gold arm guards. The thoughtful photographer helped me find several great angles. For example, the photo chosen for the cover features a classic sitting pose with hands naturally crossed near the knees, effectively highlighting the leg lines and bare feet. Another shot with raised arms possessed great tension, though strong venue reflections caused slight blown-out highlights; still, I really love the captured dynamic motion.

In terms of understanding the character lore, although she is defined as an oracle who foresees the correct future with a secluded divine beauty, I wanted this cosplay to convey a touch of vivid humanity. That's why I intentionally chose to shoot amidst the noisy crowds of an anime convention rather than a quiet outdoor setting. It's actually a subtle interaction—as if amidst the bustling noise, she calmly observes her surroundings with her sharp eclipse insights.

Finally, regarding color grading, I lowered the color temperature slightly to cooler blue-white-gray tones, which better aligns with the character's core identity and complements the reflective floor tiles and white rug. Post-processing was kept to basic skin smoothing and brightness adjustments, retaining most of the texture details of metal accessories and highlights. I'm quite satisfied with how the final photos turned out, especially the textures of the leg wraps and gold ornaments, which, together with the cool color tone, successfully capture the essence of this outfit. The experience gained in presenting material textures will serve as a great reference for future complex cosplays of similar styles.
