On September 26, 2026, we completed this cosplay photoshoot of Wakaba Mutsumi from the Ave Mujica project at Diwang Plaza. Photography was done by NightDiva, and I, Jellyfish (Shuimu), was the model. To align with Mutsumi's cool, distant, and aloof aura, I deliberately chose a classic JK uniform look.

For hair and makeup, the mint-green long straight wig was meticulously trimmed and thinned; the front bangs and side locks framed the face nicely, enhancing the character's cool detachment. For the eye makeup, I wore golden-yellow contact lenses paired with reddish-brown eyeshadow and noticeable under-eye blush. This style of blush gives the character a subtly fragile yet stubbornly resolute mood. For lips, I chose a natural soft pink, keeping the entire makeup clean and translucent without feeling cakey or heavy.

The outfit is a navy-blue long-sleeve sailor suit featuring a wide white sailor collar and a gray ribbon tie. White striping accents the cuffs and skirt hem, along with golden horizontal bar accents across the chest. The lower half was paired with knee-high Black stockings and dark brown leather loafers. The visual contrast between navy blue and mint green feels remarkably harmonious.

The set design complemented the character's ambiance flawlessly: off-white sheer drapes served as the backdrop, dotted with glowing star-shaped fairy lights to create dreamy bokeh. Around me were abundant blue-and-purple silk floral arrangements, including hydrangeas and white roses. Holding a single white rose as a prop lent an added layer of serenity to the frame.

In terms of posing, I experimented with subtle details—such as resting hands folded over the chest holding the white rose, sitting on a wooden chair with legs tilted slightly, or standing with palms pressed together while turning three-quarters to the side. These postures effectively convey Mutsumi's state of appearing calm on the surface while holding complex inner emotions. Photographer NightDiva excels at capturing these understated body languages, guiding me to stay relaxed and keep my gaze from being too piercing, maintaining an elusive, detached feel.

In the seated wooden chair shots, the skirt draped naturally, and the negative space between the knee-high Black stockings and the hem brought subtle liveliness to the tranquil frame, creating a balanced composition. The standing prayer-pose shots highlighted the sailor uniform's clean tailoring and drape. The white rose wasn't merely a prop, but an externalized reflection of the character's inner world.

The greatest challenge in portraying Wakaba Mutsumi was capturing that outwardly quiet yet internally intricate psychological state. She is far from a one-dimensional character; hence throughout the cosplay process—from wig styling and makeup detailing to body language—I strove to embody her unique presence. This session deepened my understanding of the character, and I am grateful for the photographer's patience and professional craftsmanship. Every cosplay is a brand-new journey; bringing a 2D image into reality through genuine effort is inherently meaningful. Today's sailor-suit Mutsumi was a truly rewarding endeavor.
