Today's shooting work at the REDLAND2026 booth has officially wrapped up, and this Pearl look is finally fully presented.
The layering of this outfit is among the most intricate of all the characters I've worked on recently. The primary tone is pure white, complemented by deep sea blue and pink accents. The top features an open-back cut with black geometric line cutouts across the chest, an oversized pink ribbon bow on the side of the waist, and a tiered skirt crafted from overlapping layers of white tulle and blue jacquard fabric that evoke the airy flow of ocean waves. To restore the character's oceanic essence, the wig was chosen in a pale blonde transitioning into soft cyan-blue, with a remarkably natural gradient towards the tips. The golden crown headdress and glowing gem on the forehead were unmistakably recognizable under the booth's bright floodlights. What surprised me most was the combination of white tights and shell-shaped knee armor; this collision of contrasting materials gave the lower body a much richer visual depth.
The craftsmanship of the prop staff is also worth highlighting. The blue-and-gold shaft, paired with intricate carvings around the grip, carried satisfying physical weight. In terms of makeup, to coordinate with the pink-violet-red contact lenses, eye makeup utilized a matching tonal wash, while the lips were kept a natural soft pink to emphasize the dreamy look in the eyes. A black choker with metal pendants around the neck added a touch of sharpness, balancing out the overt softness of the gown.
The booth staging matched the styling flawlessly. The giant white seashell dais surrounded by blue foliage and blossoms truly felt like stepping into an undersea palace. Because it was an in-person expo, the ambient convention lighting was quite complex, so many shots relied on strobes to pull down the background and make the subject pop. I experimented with both standing and seated poses. When standing, holding the long staff diagonally anchored the entire composition; when seated, it was easier to display the voluminous tiers of the skirt and the contours of the legs. To showcase the texture of the white tights, I carefully adjusted the crossing angle of my legs during seated shots, using reflectors to create natural leg highlights.
Cosplaying at an offline convention tests both stamina and makeup longevity above all else. From fitting the wig and straightening the attire to stepping onto the stage surrounded by lenses, the entire process demands maintaining tight physical posture. At the REDLAND2026 booth, there were countless passionate fans who love this title; hearing people recognize the character and call out her name offered an irreplaceable joy of connecting with fellow fans. For me, every cosplay is a deconstruction of a character's inner aura and visual silhouette. Rather than simply replicating a costume, I want to bring reasonable three-dimensional realism to life through makeup, prop textures, and interactive stage expression. From the blonde gradient to the cascading hems, from the weight of the staff to the pacing of each step, every detail helped me immerse myself further into character. This set documents many wonderful highlights from this booth journey, and I will continue organizing more angles from the final cuts.
