For this Honkai: Star Rail Black Swan cosplay photoshoot, rather than merely replicating the look, it was more about attempting to capture a temperament balanced delicately on the edge between elegance and danger. The opening line of the post, "Let me become a thorn in your heart," actually resonates deeply with my understanding of Black Swan—she inherently possesses that mysterious, elusive, yet irresistibly magnetic charm.

These photos were shot indoors at a café with excellent natural lighting. Because Black Swan's color scheme is so distinct—featuring an expansive lavender wig and deep purple lace garments—harsh lighting can easily make it look cheap or overly heavy. The soft, lateral natural light of the café beautifully diffused these dark tones, allowing both the gradient layering of the wig and the translucent delicacy of the lace fabric to shine through.

For greater visual impact, I deliberately chose a top-down close-up angle during the shoot, paired with the gesture of cradling the black folding fan, hoping to create an illusion of intimate, close-up interaction. That black Lace fan prop was my favorite piece among all the accessories—the fine gold linework on the ribs embellished the black fan like sharp blades, echoing the motif of a "thorn" flawlessly for this Anime-style photography.

The leather head-strap detailed with golden hollow buckles was a key focus while styling the wig. The head wraps and geometric patterns are inherently intricate; if misaligned or tightened excessively, they can appear bulky. I adjusted the angle of the strap multiple times, striving to preserve the exotic flair of the original design without obscuring facial contours. The wig was specifically chosen for its lightweight, airy tiers, ensuring that even from a high-angle perspective, the hair strands didn't collapse into a rigid block of color, but retained dynamic, breathing texture.

Regarding the costume, this deep purple lace top was truly a test of fabric quality for this Cosplay outfit. Because it features cutout lace, finding the right snug fit is notoriously tricky. To remain decent in an open setting like a café while maintaining the character's sensual allure, I made subtle adaptations to the inner lining; combined with the teardrop cutout at the neckline, it preserved character accuracy while ensuring everything looked neat and poised during shooting. In formal conventions or casual sessions like this, garment tailoring and fit dictate photo texture far more than digital visual effects.

As for cosplay itself, every photo set is a process of deconstructing and re-examining the character. Although I formally added an "OOC apology" in the post text, when portraying the character, I still lean toward infusing a touch of personal interpretation. Black Swan's elegance is not merely cold aloofness; it can also carry a hint of languid playfulness. Expressing this nuance through parted lips and clear violet eyes feels far more vivid to me than simply mimicking standard static poses.

In post-processing, rather than pushing for a razor-sharp, stark aesthetic, I preserved soft indoor halos and a gentle touch of haziness. This kept the overall atmosphere dreamy and aesthetically poetic, which better aligns with the character's enigmatic, ethereal essence.

Although this was a relatively casual shoot without elaborate studio sets, I hope this intimate close-up perspective allows everyone to feel the unique tension hidden beneath Black Swan's ornate attire. Every time I prepare a work like this—whether organizing intricate accessories, steaming delicate lace fabrics, or studying optimal angles for wearing headpieces—it deepens my bond with the character.

Being able to weave this complex, classical, and mystical aesthetic into a contemporary real-life setting is, to me, the most fascinating aspect of cosplay.
