This photoshoot release features the Carefree murmurs skin of Arturia (Virtuosa) from Arknights (Arturia cosplay). To match the character lore, we specially selected a Gothic church as the backdrop. The primary challenge during shooting lay in the complex props—such as the floating black shards behind me and the long-stemmed musical instrument in hand—which required constant repositioning and coordination with the photographer's camera angles.
Costume-wise, the pairing of the structured white coat and the black pleated skirt creates a stark contrast, with the golden thread embroidery along the skirt hem requiring frequent tidying. The intense backlight filtering through the church's stained-glass windows put light metering to the test; only after repeated adjustments did we preserve the nuanced gradations in the shadows of the props and dark hair. During post-production, we deliberately avoided over-retouching, preserving the natural interplay of ambient light, shadow, and skin texture.
Because this look includes a thorned crown headpiece, I practiced a detached, chilling gaze to suit the photo's somber mood. The weather was quite cold that day, and the long instrument prop was genuinely heavy, requiring frequent rests after every few takes. We had to reshoot several times due to positioning and prop obstruction issues, but thankfully the final outcome turned out wonderful. To embody the character's commanding aura, I kept my spine straight, letting the side-backlight sculpt the garment's silhouette. Overall, I am thoroughly pleased with how this cold gothic aesthetic came together. All in all, it was a physically demanding shoot with intricate prop handling, but immensely fulfilling.
