[Amiya Cosplay] Arknights Starry Wishes: Behind-the-Scenes Notes

The offline set for Starry Wishes this time was truly photogenic; the deep blue starry sky and dark steed sculpture in the background had strong texture, paired with pink-purple floral vines, giving the raw photos a cool and alluring base tone with very cohesive overall coloring.

The costume details for this shoot were very heavy. Zuo Le cosplay's black-and-red outfit paired with silver armor was genuinely heavy—especially the armor on the right arm, which was exhausting to put on and take off. To maintain a tall, upright silhouette, he had to keep holding that spear throughout the shoot; the metallic joints frequently snagged on his cuffs, taking considerable time to adjust angles during the session.

As the cosplayer for Amiya, my white-and-blue dress featured extensive ruffled trimming, providing great layering to the skirt. Paired with the beast ears on my head, I had to constantly mind the angle of the ears under the lights, otherwise they would be blocked by the geometric frames in the background. Rosmontis's costume was primarily centered around blue-and-white ribbons and lace, with the crown and cat ears strongly highlighting her character traits. The Stockings beneath her skirt reflected the lighting beautifully, flattering her leg lines; when she posed lively with both hands raised, it perfectly accentuated the strengths of this outfit, looking even more photogenic than when sitting quietly.

Because everyone had to be clearly in the frame, the photographer was very strict about positioning, requiring us to constantly micro-adjust our facial angles according to the lighting on set. The blade of Zuo Le's weapon often produced harsh specular reflections, requiring light flags to block stray glare back and forth. Coordinating costumes, makeup, and props across multiple characters truly tested everyone's patience, especially with the vast difference in reflectivity between long skirts and heavy armor. To ensure balanced exposure, we shot several takes in the studio.

When selecting photos during post-production, the second image had better compositional tension: staggered with depth, none of the three cropped out, and the visual center cleanly anchored. The skirts for these costumes all sat above the knee, paired with tight leg straps and Stockings; even without deliberately seeking specific angles, they showcased flattering body proportions, making it convenient to capture candid moments across varied poses.

The color clash in this styling was very intriguing: classic black-and-white base tones paired with deep blue accents, and the red ribbons on Zuo Le serving as a visual highlight. Combined with the wigs, beast ears, and makeup, the overall presentation achieved an exquisite and mysterious atmosphere for photo sharing. Sharing some authentic experiences from this shoot—when costumes, props, makeup, and lighting align seamlessly, the resulting photo quality is indeed elevated.
