[Theresa Cosplay] Gentle Light from Arknights Debut in Changsha Today

In the summer of Changsha, the venue of the Arknights ONLY event brought many unique experiences. Attempting Theresa's look this time was a process filled with both challenges and joy. From initial fabric selection to tailoring this black-and-white color-blocked costume, securing the pair of black sharp horns atop the head, and placing the black-and-red bow tie on the collar, I strove to stay as faithful to original character settings as possible. The white deep V-neck inner top formed a striking color contrast with the long black blazer, while white ribbons wrapped around the arms added dynamic fluidity and visual extension. Combined with the semi-transparent white striped tulle skirt on the lower half, the overall look achieved a sleek yet soft and elegant aura.

Regarding makeup, I specifically chose a light pink wig. This shade demands high standards for base makeup, as slight missteps can leave skin tones looking dull. I spent considerable effort blending eye makeup and selecting contact lenses that matched character eye colors to create depth and gentleness in the gaze. To capture character essence, I experimented with different techniques for downward eye lining and feather-like hair strokes, arriving at an outcome I found genuinely satisfying.

Lighting conditions on shoot day were complex, as indoor convention overhead lights easily caused facial glare or shadows. I am deeply grateful for photographer WiFi's professional directing. He managed softbox placement skillfully; light slanting down from the upper right defined three-dimensional facial contours while highlighting patent leather shine on the black coat and textures of the white tulle. This clean, luminous lighting setup ultimately yielded this live venue shot that I treasure greatly.

At this Changsha ONLY event, I witnessed widespread passion for Arknights among fellow fans. Every photoset release represents more than simply donning attire—it conveys a desire to freeze character moments through personal interpretation. Whether looking down to adjust a cuff or glancing up into the camera, we aim to transmit resonant emotion shared with the character. Though props on-site were minimal, relying on foundational garment cuts, color harmonies, and the photographer's vision allowed us to create a high-textured photo collection.

While organizing this attire, I realized that lightweight tulle skirts and structured blazer coats do not naturally drape seamlessly, requiring continuous adjustments of edges and folds while worn. These behind-the-scenes details are often hidden by front-of-camera success, yet they form the essence of costume design. I thoroughly enjoyed the process of preparation, fitting, tweaking, shooting, and selecting shots—it renders a cosplay project deeply meaningful. Themes like anime photography initiatives motivate creators to present richer visual worlds through lenses and passion at conventions. The ultimate charm of offline events lies in bringing people together through shared love. While capturing this shot, I intentionally relaxed my shoulders and rested my fingers gently along the collar edge, striving for a natural, relaxed demeanor with commanding character presence. Wrapping white ribbons required careful skill to prevent slipping while maintaining clean visuals and natural, artful disarray. Through repeated adjustments before the lens, I found optimal angles and hand placements, leading to a final photoset everyone loved. The event ran smoothly, and participating by completing a character portrayal in my own way brought immense joy. Moving forward, I will continue refining future works to faithfully reproduce authentic character textures.
