For this outing, I brought Azur Lane's Elbing to life, traveling with this intricate ensemble specifically for the Black Dragonfly Anime convention. We planned for a long time, studying everything from the tailoring to the makeup. These photos were actually snapped inside the car while waiting at red lights—the ambient interior lighting was surprisingly flattering, so I captured a few quick frames on my phone. First, regarding the styling: White hair with heterochromia is truly eye-catching. To faithfully recreate the character, the wig was sculpted into two large twin buns stuffed with lightweight fillers and anchored with heavy-duty pins to avoid drooping. The gilded floral headpiece carried noticeable heft alongside its cascading tassels, requiring delicate care during dressing so it wouldn't snag the fabric. For makeup, because she canonically has heterochromia, I paired different colored contact lenses with expansive red-toned eye shadow to channel that mysterious, cool detachment.
The outfit features a pure white base adorned with ornate gold embroidery, lace paneling down the cravat, and sheer black sleeves that add rich structural depth. At the Anime convention, the visual presence drew countless looks. While navigating between halls kept me from shooting full-length photos, the fitted waistline and golden tassels flattered body proportions beautifully. Taking quick snaps inside the car allowed for relaxed, candid expressions before heading home to de-cos. It was an unforgettable Azur Lane 2D tribute that enriched my experience with elaborate, pale-haired character styling.
