[Ganyu Cosplay] Liyue Secretary's Workday Routine: Saving Mora Just for That Delicious Eight-Treasure Rice

Off to work in Liyue! Hopefully, Lady Ningguang will grant me extra Mora for diligently processing documents every day, so I can go indulge in delicious Eight-Treasure Rice. This post shares my secretary-themed Ganyu Cosplay. To make it easy to see the details, I made a two-panel collage: the top is a half-body side profile, and the bottom is a front-facing close-up with hand gestures.

Preparing for this Ganyu Cosplay was actually quite elaborate. First was tackling the wig: Ganyu's light purple hair is highly recognizable, requiring patient trimming of the bangs and adjusting the natural drape of the long locks on both sides. The outfit was custom-made; the material contrast between the white collar and dark bodice is crucial. The golden bow embellishment at the neckline with the small hanging bell underneath serves as the soul of the outfit—the bell chimes crisply when walking, adding wonderful immersion. For the gloves and sleeves, the blue motifs and white rigid components were tricky to stabilize, easily shifting during large arm movements, so shooting angles required careful attention.

During the shoot, I chose a pure white background so the set wouldn't distract from the subject, keeping visual focus squarely on the character and costume. In the top photo, turning slightly with my gaze cast diagonally highlights the head accessories and the graceful lines of the neck and shoulders, creating a serene mood. In the lower photo, looking directly into the camera with arms raised displays the patterned cuffs, a pose that feels warm and inviting, as if presenting my work report to Lady Ningguang. To embody Ganyu's gentle yet slightly absentminded secretary charm, expression control was paramount and couldn't be stiff.

The shoot itself was quite fun—holding up reflectors to find optimal lighting angles left my arms sore! As a cosplayer in the 2D community for years, I believe recreating a character isn't just about wearing the costume, but experiencing her life path in this world. As written in the description, working in Liyue, earning Mora, and craving Eight-Treasure Rice are all vivid parts of her lore. Though a full day of shooting is exhausting, bringing a lively Ganyu to life through my own performance feels deeply fulfilling. During shooting, I prioritized costume texture—ensuring dark fabrics remained flat, the white collar stayed crisp, and blue linework remained distinct. To keep the bell hanging straight, I barely dared move between takes, fearing a crooked bell would spoil the frame. In post-processing, I didn't alter my body contours excessively, mainly tweaking ambient color temperature so the white wall appeared more translucent and the purple hair carried an airy feel. This outfit truly tests posture, especially those rigid-textured sleeve parts that often forced awkward poses just to catch the perfect camera angle.

Many people picture Ganyu as an ethereal, otherworldly adeptus, but as a secretary, she possesses a grounded, relatable workday reality. Trying this secretary setting was all about bringing out that daily life feeling. To fit this theme, I worked on facial expressions to balance professional dedication with her foodie, playful side. Throughout shooting, I repeatedly adjusted the bell and neckline position to ensure they looked flawless from every angle.

Beyond attire, the use of subtle gestures—like accentuating the waistline or wrist motions—keeps the overall styling dynamic rather than stiff. Checking makeup and verifying details before each shutter click ensures refined quality before your eyes. Though removing makeup, washing wigs, and packing costumes after a cosplay shoot is tiring, gazing at the character brought to life brings immense satisfaction.
