[Eresh cosplay] Fate/Grand Order On-location shooting: The Starry sky cosmic atmosphere is incredible

This Starry sky floating concept executed via On-location shooting placed very high demands on the lighting setup during the preparation stage. The nebula in the background was crafted in-camera using deep blue backdrops and practical lights; to make the cosmos appear profound, the key light was kept strictly cool-toned. The venue had limited space, so to capture the sensation of floating, I had to rely heavily on external support to maintain my balance. This type of shoot is physically demanding, especially since this Eresh outfit has a heavy dress hemline and a hefty headpiece.

The white lace skirt paired with asymmetric legwear—one leg wearing White stockings and the other in blue tights—creates a striking contrast under the blue lighting. The texture of the stockings reflects slightly under the lights, accentuating the leg lines nicely. To maintain the floating pose, I extended my left hand forward and bent my right leg backward, a posture that makes it look as though I'm drifting or falling through outer space.

Collaboration with the photographer was crucial; he needed to precisely capture the natural feeling of the body in mid-air suspension. Sometimes, waiting for a gust of wind to lift the dress hem required multiple attempts. The benefit of this practical On-location shooting is that the subject receives authentic lighting and blends much better with the backdrop. Post-production only required minor blemish cleanup and color adjustments to closely match the original design.

Cosplaying is not merely wearing a costume, but experiencing the character itself. Gradually adjusting poses within the set, feeling the interplay of light and shadow, and letting the character's spirit emerge step by step. Seeing myself floating in the Starry sky in the photos made all the prior hard work feel completely worthwhile. After finishing this set, I gained new insights into practical lighting setups and posing. During usual shoots, I also pay close attention to details, such as keeping the clean lines of stockings and showcasing clothing layers while floating. Crafting that touch of deep blue ambiance this time contributed greatly to the final visual outcome. When posing, eye contact and interaction with the lens require careful attention—since the camera cannot get too close, facial expressions must convey the vast cosmic mood. The cool-toned temperament of this set stands out prominently, and the textures of the white lace and mechanical headwear were faithfully reproduced. I hope to continue challenging different shooting styles in the future and presenting the best side of every character.
