Cosplaying Phoebe from the Role-playing game Wuthering Waves required a lot of thoughtful preparation right from the start. The outfit design emphasizes rich detail: a predominantly white dress paired with a dark navy capelet and black-ground gold-thread trim, creating a strong sense of visual layering. To ensure the costume didn't look limp or flat, I devoted considerable effort to ironing and grooming, especially around the subtle cloud embroidery on the skirt hem and the golden borders, which had to be perfectly smooth to look their best on camera.

The head styling was equally crucial. For the wide-brimmed white hat, I deliberately added blue satin ribbons and a cross-shaped hair ornament to mirror the outfit's motifs. The wig chosen was a long, wavy golden-blonde style; I trimmed the bangs slightly so they contoured better around my face. For makeup, to capture the character's essence, I wore blue contact lenses, deepened the eye contours, and applied a noticeable soft blush to the cheeks. Together with the beauty mark dotted beneath her left eye, the makeup looked textured and dimensional under natural daylight.

In terms of props, the blue grimoire and the bird-crested golden staff were essential keys to bringing the Anime cosplay to life. The staff is quite long, so outdoor shooting required good balance control—adjusting hand placement slightly allowed the staff's silhouette and the figure to form a clean diagonal composition. The golden filigree on the grimoire is intricate, and I practiced flipping it open in front of the mirror at home several times to ensure my wrist angles appeared effortless and graceful.

From the moment I unboxed the outfit, I was thinking about how to best bring out its layered styling. The base is a black high-neck inner shirt with cross-row gold buttons, layered beneath a white long-sleeved dress with black lace cuffs, topped with a dark navy capelet vest. To prevent garments from shifting out of place during the shoot, I pinned numerous hidden safety pins along the inside. The golden chains and blue tassels at the waist belt also needed careful securing to prevent them from tangling whenever I swung the staff.

As for the makeup, since it was shot outdoors under natural light, I chose a breathable, long-lasting foundation base to prevent sweat from breaking it down. The eye makeup was the core highlight: blue contact lenses recreated the character's look, warm-toned eyeshadow balanced out the coolness of the blue eyes, and eyeliner along with false lashes made the gaze pop. The beauty mark below the left eye was applied with liquid liner to enhance recognition. The long golden wavy wig was pre-curled with an iron to define its bounce, ensuring the bangs remained airy enough for the eyes to shine through.

The shoot took place on a bright, clear day. I wore White stockings with tall boots styled with gold V-shaped accents and blue ribbon bows, matching the ensemble seamlessly. Since the stockings hug the legs closely, I took care while walking and posing to keep the fabric from snagging. Photographer Haoyuan shivering in the corner was completely dedicated and professional, helping find great compositions among the statues and stone stairs. When standing on the steps, I leaned one leg slightly forward to elongate my proportions and showcase the clean leg lines alongside the texture of the White stockings. The glance back holding the staff turned out to be a favorite shot for both of us.

With abundant sunlight across the venue, the pairing highlighted slender leg lines on camera. Because we were shooting on outdoor steps beside stone sculptures, footing and posture demanded constant awareness. I braced with the ball of my front foot and straightened my back leg to lengthen the silhouette visually. The photographer excelled at candid snaps: posing sideways holding the grimoire, or raising the staff with one hand towards the lens. Holding a long-handled staff tested my arm endurance, so I anchored my center of gravity along my body's central axis. Whenever a soft breeze brushed through, catching the hem and cape fluttering mid-air, the resulting frames felt wonderfully dynamic. The fabric showed a soft, elegant sheen in the sunlight, with the contrast between white and navy popping vividly. Despite continuous readjustments to garments and poses, previewing the camera playback showed every planned detail coming together. Although standing in heels for hours left my feet aching, seeing the vibrant colors and character accuracy made every effort worthwhile. I made sure to detangle the golden waist chain and blue tassels during breaks so nothing cluttered the look. I hope this set conveys a refreshing visual experience—I truly enjoyed every moment of this Anime cosplay shoot.
