This Hatsune Miku cosplay presented at the China International Comics Festival Anime convention spanned a very wide design spectrum. From the fluffy bunny ears in the soft indoor lighting of photo one, to the playful carousel under outdoor sunshine in photo two, the ethereal crystal skirt in photo three, and the sacred grandeur of the massive wooden back-wheel and long white gown in photo four, bringing all four looks together created an impression of intertwining spacetime.
The most visceral sensation during the shoot was the heavyweight detailing of these costumes. Although photo one is soft and cute, the wig was exceptionally long; lying inside the enclosure meant the hair covered a massive surface area, requiring constant care not to crush plush toys or step on the ends. The texture of the White stockings paired with the skirt's lace flattered leg lines beautifully and looked great on camera, though knees easily pressed against the linework when posing.
The carousel prop in photo two was remarkably heavy, with its wooden base and crossbar secured to my waist. Standing for extended periods placed intense strain on my core and waist, and combined with platform shoes, standing steady under the outdoor overhead sun required keeping leg muscles taut—behind a great shot lies plenty of physical labor.
The outfit in photo three featured a transparent mesh skirt and headpiece, creating a crisp, sci-fi aesthetic. However, whenever the wind blew, that semi-sheer mesh easily snagged on the high-top White stockings, requiring constant adjustment so as not to compromise visual appeal.
Most memorable was the large back-wheel and long flowing wig in photo four. The weight was astounding, leaving my shoulders aching and casting shadows against the back light. Thankfully, the outdoor sunshine was wonderful; backlit, the sheer luster of the white dress and hair strands turned out exquisitely translucent, with that sacred ambiance relying entirely on everyone's coordinated lighting work.
The Anime convention was genuinely overcrowded, which impeded movement. I originally planned to take photos with other cosplayers, but it was almost impossible to push through the crowd. Missing the chance to shoot with Master A Tong was particularly heartbreaking after seeing everyone else's photos later, leaving me with great regret.
Countless efforts went into the delicate tuning of every makeup look and garment. Although the shooting process was exhausting, merging these dreamy 2D elements with real-world outdoor locations was a truly unique experience. White stockings, intricate headpieces, varying heel heights, and heavyweight props will remain genuine, unforgettable memories of this cosplay journey.
