Pre-production for this Genshin Impact Sandrone photoshoot centered largely on managing that intricate black, red, and gold gown. The petticoat boning was quite rigid and heavily restricted movement, where stepping on the hem took only a moment of carelessness. Before shooting, the stylist focused on the long blonde hair, repeatedly setting the oversized white bow on top with hairspray to ensure it wouldn't shift when tilting or turning my head. The eye makeup was rendered in cool, subdued tones to match the character's signature aloof and detached persona.

The setting was staged in a vintage study dressed with an antique typewriter, a vintage rotary telephone, heavy hardcover tomes, a wooden library ladder, and a piano. Natural light filtered diagonally through Venetian blinds, creating striped light-and-shadow patterns that beautifully carved out contours. However, with the complex ambient interior light, the black sections of the dress tended to absorb light heavily; reflector panels were necessary to lift shadows and reveal the delicate facets of the ruby accents and gold trim. The coordinate was paired with white stockings and tall black heels, requiring support while moving around. The sheer white stockings were prone to snagging, and the photographer had to carefully regulate the side-lighting angle to prevent harsh over-reflection. To flatter leg contours, seated poses extending the legs forward worked alongside the tiered skirt to visually elongate my proportions. Holding the teacup proved tricky as the gloved fingers were slippery, requiring delicate pressure control to keep hand gestures from looking stiff. Leaning against the wooden ladder demanded shifting my center of gravity to let the gown's drape fall naturally.

In terms of posing, subtle movements worked best—relying on turning pages or gripping the teacup handle to guide the viewer's eye. The series alternated between full-body and medium close-up shots; tight angles needed to accurately freeze her haughty, guarded gaze. Because close-up lenses sat so near, smoothing garment wrinkles and resetting the petticoat between takes was essential to ensure character fidelity from every angle. Medium-telephoto lenses compressed the background, enhancing depth in the vintage setting, while an interior tasseled lamp provided charming local accent light. Every prop interaction required mindful refinement—from angling a book to elongate the wrists to positioning the legs to highlight the sheer elasticity of the stockings. Ultimately, the frames seated on the piano bench and leaning by the bookshelf were chosen, providing a thorough recreation of her design. While demanding, the shoot offered rich insights into vintage set dynamics and wardrobe expression, capturing the exact atmospheric stillness envisioned from the start.
