[Kashino Cosplay] Azur Lane: Rainy Window Days and Cozy At-Home Laziness

An indoor shoot on a rainy day. Centering around a low-light photographic theme, we chose a room styled with cozy lifestyle elements. The felt rainbow wall hanging, the beige woven rug, and the spacious sage-green beanbag chair all set a relaxed, homebody tone for the session.

Today, I wore this white dress decorated with soft purplish-gray ribbons, featuring voluminous, layered ruffles on the skirt. The garment splices lace with airy chiffon, while lettuce-edge trims along the cuffs and neckline look delightfully charming. On my head, I wore plush Animal ears accented with ribbons and crucifix motifs on the sides; around my neck hung a choker with a metallic pendant, creating rich detail. The fluffy tail pinned behind the waist required careful attention during movement and posing to keep it from tangling into the skirt folds or looking unnatural. The White stockings with delicate lace along the legs were the soul of the ensemble—breaking the monotony of the white dress while visually elongating the silhouette.

My favorite shots were the ones taken by the window. Rain was falling outside, leaving droplets across the glass panes, while blurry green foliage mirrored against the window frame formed a dreamy natural backdrop. This diffused rainy-day daylight gently enveloped me, bringing out a remarkably soft texture in my skin and white attire.

Gear-wise, our main setup utilized a 35mm T1.4 lens. In a relatively confined indoor space, the 35mm focal length beautifully balanced environmental storytelling with intimate portraiture. The fast T1.4 aperture shone in this overcast lighting, ensuring ample light intake while delivering creamy background bokeh that cleaned up indoor clutter, locking visual focus squarely on the character. We also used a Zhiyun X100 RGB for subtle fill light and Lark sound gear for audio, hoping to create dynamic video versions later. Supported by Tilta rigs, the camera remained rock-solid without constant tripod readjustments.

We moved across several spots during the session. Sinking into the plush beanbag naturally helped me unwind, resulting in effortless expressions carrying a cat-like laziness. Hugging the white teddy bear added a playful touch of innocence. The photographer was very patient, continuously providing feedback as I adjusted my leg placement and hand gestures, helping me settle into a gentle, playful demeanor true to the character.

Wearing Anime cosplay attire with a long tail and intricate headgear is physically demanding. If the tail hangs too low, it looks clumsy, so ribbons and skirt layers needed constant tidying between takes. Yet seeing the preview shots bathed in rainy daylight and warm ambient lighting made all the effort worthwhile. The lightness of the dress matched the cozy room seamlessly; rather than striking exaggerated poses, this authentic everyday domestic vibe best captured the character's gentle warmth.

The overall shooting experience was deeply comfortable, relying on ambient light and subtle fill lamps rather than overly harsh studio strobes. I love this natural, breathing light-and-shadow quality. The gentle glow and the texture of the White stockings endowed the photos with delicate tenderness—the exact mood I wanted to convey to everyone viewing this Kashino Cosplay set.
