This Alice Cosplay shoot took place in a blossoming sea of orange flowers, set against a massive concrete viaduct and occasionally passing trains. The wind was exceptionally strong on the shooting day; the wig and voluminous blue-and-white bonnet were frequently blown across my face, requiring constant adjustment, while the dress hem struggled to drape naturally in the gusts. Yet these environmental challenges unexpectedly added a natural, lively touch to the final shots.

Let's discuss the styling and details first. This blue-and-white Lolita fashion dress features rich, multi-tiered layers: the top is adorned with soft ruffled textures and delicate lace, while the deep blue gradient lace on the skirt creates a striking visual contrast against the white lining. To echo this palette, I wore blue contact lenses and a blue ribbon headband, deliberately applying foundation two shades lighter, elongating the eyeliner, and emphasizing the lashes to channel the exquisite porcelain doll-like aesthetic of Alice from Identity V. The long wavy blonde hair was styled from the original wig, taking extensive effort to shape and set the curls.

The lighting during the shoot was intense—direct sunlight around 10 AM was very harsh, making shadows tricky to manage. To counter this, the photographer chose numerous side-backlit angles, using foreground blooms in Flower field photography to create large bokeh flares that softened the backdrop. Shooting from a low angle upward highlighted facial contours against the blue sky and white clouds, while lending the viaduct behind an imposing contrast. Later, during close-up shots sitting or crouching among the blooms, adjusting the aperture created a soft, dreamy blur across the flower field, making facial close-ups appear cleaner and softer to evoke a true fairy-tale quality.

The main challenge in Flower field photography was flowers constantly obstructing the skirt hem. The massive pannier underneath made walking and crouching through the blooms quite cumbersome; sitting down accidentally crushed a few stems, which broke my heart. To express Alice's innocence and elegance, I tried various poses—cupping blossoms toward the camera or gently steadying my bonnet with one hand to naturally shield harsh light while showing off the dress details. The industrial viaduct and passing green trains in the background added a unique clash between modern industry and whimsical fantasy—a very intriguing perspective for cosplay photography.

Overall, the shooting experience was fantastic. Although the preparations were intricate, the on-set mood was wonderful, capturing crisp, vibrant colors and authentic character presence for a high-quality outdoor cosplay record.
