For this Convention photo shoot at Jing'an Joy City, the overall concept was the Pink Elf girl carrying her iconic HOMU bag. From the moment this shoot was planned, pink was locked in as the central visual focus. To embody the character's sweet and playful charm, the hairstyle featured shoulder-length pink hair with subtle, natural curls at the tips. The oversized red-and-white ribbon bow on top was secured with pins at a precise angle, paired with elf ear prosthetics to sculpt a clean, three-dimensional profile.
The wardrobe paired a white long-sleeved button-up shirt as a base with an outer pink pinafore dress, centered by a red-and-white plaid bow brooch as a key highlight. Red crisscross laces at the waist cinched the silhouette while echoing the headpiece's crimson accents. The tiered skirt featured pink plaid trims that created rich, dynamic folds whether walking or seated. Down below, white over-the-knee socks (White stockings) and light-grey chunky-heeled Mary Janes added a touch of graceful preppy flair.
The venue lighting at Jing'an Joy City was quite dim with dark backgrounds, so the photographer set up frontal key lighting to make the subject pop cleanly, using chiaroscuro to give skin tones and garment hues a crisp, luminous translucency. For the first cross-legged sitting pose, I placed hands on hips to create a stable, symmetrical frame; the bright yellow HOMU bag resting beside my leg created an eye-catching chromatic contrast against the pink and white palette.
In the second frame, I transitioned to a side-seated pose with knees bent to accentuate leg lines, balancing the proportions of the socks and shoes within the frame while leaning slightly forward with an eye-level gaze to create a relaxed, cozy mood. The third shot featured standing and glancing over the shoulder, showcasing the cascading hair and the bag in full—an angle that effortlessly brought out her lively spirit.
To ensure this set came out cleanly, significant prep went into smoothing out the wig, and the elf ear prosthetics were adjusted repeatedly to prevent slipping during movement. The HOMU bag wasn't merely a prop; its strap length was calibrated so it harmonized with the dress whether slung over the shoulder or set on the mat. Shooting indoors, the magic circle floor mat complemented the 2D aesthetic seamlessly. The entire shoot was a search for organic rhythm across sitting and standing poses—relaxing the body so the frames brimmed with vibrant life.
