[Aemeath Cosplay] BW 2026 Dessert-Themed Booth Behind-the-Scenes

This time at the Almora booth during BW 2026, I shot this dessert idol outfit look for Aemeath from Wuthering Waves. Since I happened to be working in the same exhibition hall as Xiashi-sensei, I casually snapped a few event photos and quickly sorted out these behind-the-scenes cuts while the venue lighting and decorations were still in perfect condition.

The design of this costume perfectly fits the dessert shop atmosphere. The pink-and-white checkered apron is spliced with a multi-layered lace skirt hem, and combined with off-the-shoulder puff sleeves and a bow tie, the overall look goes for a sweet, macaron-colored style. I specifically chose light blue bows for the hair accessories to create a subtle warm-cold contrast with the pink hair, preventing the look from feeling of over-sweetness. The white tights paired with white high heels look incredibly clean under the high-key lighting of the booth, beautifully elongating the leg lines.

The booth for this shoot was a dessert-themed set built by Almora, decorated with plenty of sheer curtains, plush ball ornaments, and realistic prop cakes and strawberries. I especially loved that massive yellow-and-white spatula prop; holding it for poses felt highly interactive, instantly bringing the frame to life. We also prepared a vintage coffee cup, and sitting on a folding chair cradling the cup fit this lazy afternoon tea theme perfectly.

For the shooting gear, we used a Sony A7M5 paired with a 24-70mm F2.8 GM II. This focal length is highly flexible in the limited space of a booth, allowing us to capture both full-body wide shots and half-body close-ups. The venue lighting relied mainly on Almora's continuous lights for fill, utilizing an overall soft, high-key lighting setup that beautifully restored the tender pink textures of both the skin tone and the costume. During the shoot, I experimented with several different poses, such as leaning against the table while touching my hair for a playful look, raising a prop with one hand for an energetic vibe, and elegantly holding the teacup while sitting down. The photographer was extremely fast at capturing snapshots, basically catching natural emotions in every frame.

Since this dress has a lot of layers in the skirt hem, I had to pay close attention to the layers when walking to prevent them from piling up. During the shoot, I also had to make sure the shoulder straps were positioned correctly to guarantee the symmetry of the off-the-shoulder lines. The entire shoot lasted about half an hour; although people were constantly passing by around the booth, the photographer controlled the lighting beautifully, downplaying the cluttered background elements so the subject stood out sharply.

This combination of studio shooting and real-world booth sets is quite a test of coordination, and is a great exercise for anime-style photography. The lighting on-site couldn't be adjusted as freely as in a professional studio, so with every change of pose, we had to quickly confirm the highlight positions. Luckily, having the 24-70mm zoom lens saved us from constantly changing camera positions to get different compositions. Among my top behind-the-scenes picks, I am most satisfied with the sitting pose holding the cup; the leg extension and overall center of gravity felt extremely steady, and the coffee machine background setting added a lovely everyday touch. The other standing and leaning cuts also preserved the layers of the skirt hem beautifully without any exposure or distortion from large movements.

Being able to wear this Aemeath look and capture these images at Almora's BW 2026 booth felt like a perfect match between the booth setup and the costume's style. The only thing is that during continuous shooting, you must keep the makeup clean, as the bright venue lights can easily show any oily reflection. Fortunately, the entire shooting process was very smooth, and the resulting photos met my expectations. I hope for another opportunity in the future to keep experimenting with different actions and interactions in such themed settings.
