The Amiya cosplay convention photos from Jinan Huanying Day 1 are finally sorted out—this set was primarily shot in the venue's aisle area. I chose this spot because the structural depth at the far end of the aisle creates incredible spatial perspective; regular square overhead lights cast downwards, which, contrasted with dark floors and walls, perfectly highlights the black, white, and gray costume layers alongside those translucent purplish-red floating ribbons.
This time, the costume for Amiya, the Lord of Fiends incorporates distressed details, featuring asymmetrical, jagged tattered cuts along the white fabric hem. The multi-layered skirt fans out naturally during floating or walking poses without looking clunky. The combination of long rabbit ears and a dark metallic-textured headpiece adds a mechanical, mysterious aura to the overall styling. For props, I used that black hemispherical helmet; despite being solid black, its smooth surface rendered natural specular reflections under convention venue lighting.
During shooting, the photographer used a wide-angle lens paired with low-angle shots and shifts in body center of gravity to easily evoke a sense of weightlessness. This kind of candid capture demands precise body control, but thankfully the venue offered ample space to stretch poses freely. The floating mid-air seated pose in the photos took several balance tweaks, ensuring my upper body remained relaxed while extending leg lines naturally. Thanks to the high slit hem, leg lines were beautifully displayed. The floor had subtle reflections, completing the lighting composition of the shot.
Free of complex background decorations, this minimalist industrial style highlights the details of the costume and character itself. Framing these convention photos like a poignant final movement gives the character a serene, grounded emotional state.
This archiving of Jinan Huanying serves as a recap of the day. For Amiya, the Lord of Fiends, beyond costume fabrication and wig styling, it's about conveying that unique loneliness and quiet resolve through facial expressions. Though the actual shooting lasted only a few dozen minutes, putting on the outfit and navigating locations are essential parts of the cosplay experience. Minor dust marks on the white hem are inevitable traces of walking indoors—part of the raw authenticity of convention photos. The photographer captured the venue's geometric lines, injecting narrative depth into the vast space. The color grading stays true to the site's oppressive, somber contrast without flashy editing, serving as a visual exploration of Arknights' worldbuilding. That wraps up the Jinan Huanying set—looking forward to future character portrayals!
