[Amiya cosplay] Arknights: Capriccio Beneath the Ambience Synesthesia Stage

For this Arknights Amiya cosplay shoot in her Ambience Synesthesia look, the primary effort went into preparing that Violin. To present the unique aura of the Ambience Synesthesia series, wrapping string lights around the violin strings took nearly two hours—both to ensure the lights wouldn't easily fall off and to make sure they emitted that warm, gentle glow in dim lighting.

The entire outfit is predominantly black; the lace trim at the neckline and the multi-layered ruffles of the skirt hem create an elegant drape when moving. The bunny ears atop my head were crafted from translucent material, yielding a crystal-clear, shimmering texture under the interplay of light and shadow. On my feet, I paired black high-heeled leather shoes with Black stockings, which nicely echoed the patent leather sheen of the skirt. This combination of materials worked exceptionally well for full-body shots, allowing the leg lines to be cleanly outlined by the lighting in dark environments.

The shooting location was chosen in a concrete structure full of sharp geometric lines. This cool, rigid industrial background created a striking contrast with the black gothic-style dress. During the shoot, the photographer mainly relied on warm light strips on the floor and light projected from the architectural edges, which, combined with the alternating cool and warm light specks on the Violin, created a tranquil stage effect. Because it is an Ambience Synesthesia theme, playing motions were needed to ground the shots, so most of the time during shooting was spent repeatedly adjusting the violin-holding posture—tensing my back muscles to ensure the violin-playing stance looked both professional and aesthetically pleasing.

To harmonize the elements of the Violin and Black stockings, we experimented with compositions like leaning against the wall with bowed head caressing the violin, as well as candid snaps walking on the steps. One frontal standing shot leaning against the wall, with legs naturally crossed and warm light hitting the legs just right, balanced the visual center of gravity for the whole frame—which became my favorite photo.

Throughout the entire shooting process, I communicated with the photographer on how to frame the subject using the cut angles of the geometric architecture, leveraging expansive shadows to express the solitude and atmospheric mood beneath the stage. The glowing Violin prop design stood as the most unique highlight of the styling in this work; drawing the bow required extreme care not to trip over the light string wires. In the end, we also captured lovely frames during the outdoor night shoot.
