[First Snow cosplay] Arknights: Outdoor Photoshoot Record of First Snow and SilverAsh

This shoot was for First Snow from Arknights, partnered with SilverAsh cosplay. The composition of the two of us sitting on the stone platform was perfect for evoking the atmosphere of the original setting, and the overall black-and-white tone contrasted beautifully with the on-site greenery. Regarding the costume, aside from the main dress and cape, maintaining the Animal ears and long tail was key. The silver wig paired with forehead bead strings showed crisp, distinct texture under the lighting. The white over-the-knee stockings worn on the legs fit snugly—neither stuffy when moving nor slipping down, making it easy to pose for various shots in this White tights cosplay.

The weather was great on the day of the shoot, with afternoon sunlight filtering evenly through the architecture. The outdoor location was chosen in a plaza with modern buildings in the background, allowing us to capture a compelling contrast from different angles. We adjusted my partner's standing position twice to highlight different character details through high-angle and low-angle shots. To control the skirt's drape, we spent considerable time arranging the cape's tassels to ensure they wouldn't obscure the leg lines in white stockings. The braided rope detailing on the hem was very delicate; the headpiece was heavier than expected, requiring plenty of hairspray during fastening to prevent the forehead ornaments from shifting. During duo shots, crouching into position in advance prevented the tail support from being exposed, making post-processing relatively effortless. Another set of back-view shots utilized lighting gear for backlit fill light, creating strong dynamic motion with the wind-swept hair ends and tail.

For props, the white tasseled fabric draped nicely for framing and embellishment from various angles. Special thanks to the photographer for capturing candid frames on a windy day; keeping facial expressions steady before the lens while managing the tail's sway required constant posture awareness. Being able to showcase the costume's rich texture—especially ensuring the white tights did not overexpose or produce harsh reflections under the sun—made this shoot extremely satisfying. The entire process was relaxed, paced like a casual outing without forcing overly complex poses, focusing instead on portraying the characters' natural demeanor. To match the character lore, mastering a cool and aloof expression was crucial. The photo series focused heavily on proportions and lines, enriching the frame through layered scene elements. Translating 2D character designs into 3D reality requires immense dedication to detail recreation. I hoped to faithfully replicate First Snow's cool, aloof presence while balancing stamina and patience during the shoot, walking across the park plaza numerous times as reflector boards and camera setups were adjusted repeatedly. While moving before the camera, the prominent Animal ears and long tail drew admiring glances from passersby. Overall, this outdoor photoshoot was a wonderful experience, achieving high fidelity on camera with character-accurate costume design and props.
