Shooting this summer Swimsuit under the blazing sun gave me an authentic taste of battling the heatwave! Releasing these stills now brings the perfect cooling breeze.
For this session, we chose a poolside venue accented with wood decking and tropical greenery. The crimson one-piece swimsuit contrasted against the turquoise-blue water made my skin tone pop beautifully. The sheer chiffon throw layered on top clung slightly to the skin when standing near the water for too long, making candid action shots a fun test of movement. My hair was pre-styled into curly twin tails adorned with red ribbons and Animal ears, complemented by the tail at my back—fluffing and positioning that tail to look naturally voluminous took quite a bit of care.
The makeup embraced a warm orange-brown palette that harmonized with the vulpine traits. Accents were plentiful: the turquoise butterfly temporary tattoo across the collarbone, the choker with its heart pendant, lace gloves, and black bracelets. To ensure nothing was missed, I inventoried every single accessory the night before. The white thigh ring strapped to my leg carved clean, striking lines on camera, elevating the overall styling.
Checking the forecast beforehand, we kicked off shooting during the peak daytime heat; by the end of the day, I felt practically melted into the pool. Chasing perfection meant constant back-and-forth with the photographer over lighting and angles. The sheer fabric and folds particularly demanded precise framing to preserve that weightless, airy texture. Catching the exact moment the breeze lifted the chiffon often required several takes. The wooden boards grew quite hot underfoot, so I frequently dipped my feet into the pool water to cool down.
The glance back from the orange lounge chair in Photo 3 was an unexpected highlight; the chair's vibrant color and the water behind enriched the frame's chromatic depth. Ensuring the chiffon and accessories didn't obscure leg contours required regular posture resets. Though scorching hot throughout, seeing the crimson suit, sheer chiffon, and shimmering turquoise ripples in the final stills achieved that eye-catching, refreshing summer vibe. All told, this Summer Flowers shoot was a success, capturing the contrast between outdoor heat and pool coolness while offering invaluable experience in dynamic swimwear photography.
