Shooting this Arknights Priestess cosplay set, I primarily wanted to highlight the fragmented essence of memory and time. To achieve the ideal visual aesthetic, we prepped numerous props beforehand—from expansive transparent sheets and suspended cinema film strips to massive projection gear casting enlarged eyes and piercing gazes onto the walls. Standing in that space, I instantly felt enveloped by an icy, scrutinizing gaze. Floating glowing diamonds above and beside me, alongside the prominent infinity symbol and scattered film rolls, perfectly captured her aura suspended in a data void.

For styling and outfits, we focused heavily on the details. The lab coat was essential, layered over a crisp white shirt and a black pencil skirt. To elongate posture and silhouette lines, I wore Black stockings and high heels. Because the entire series features a distinct, cool-toned bluish palette, I emphasized purple-blue hues in the colored contacts and used a reddish lipstick to softly counterbalance the chill, making the gaze appear profound yet enigmatically elusive. Styling the long hair was equally crucial—sculpting its curling waves to look naturally disheveled yet intentional, faithful to the 2D character lore.

The shooting process in this Photography project was fascinating, with the photographer employing various camera angles. We experimented with overhead bird's-eye shots lying amidst piles of film looking up, as well as full-body portraits before the colossal eye projection. Most memorable was shooting a facial close-up through shattered glass fragments; the broken geometric facets fractured my features to produce a striking visual tension, fitting the complex emotions of her journey. The pupil close-up shot through clear plastic film also captured a dreamy, surreal mood. Another shot holding film while standing side-on against a warm amber glow created a powerful contrast with the surrounding blues, which I adore.

Post-processing prioritized atmospheric preservation over flashy line effects, relying on warm-cool chromatic contrast to make the blue-and-white transitions feel serene yet gentle. Portraying such a stream-of-consciousness character, I've always felt that spiritual essence and aura matter far more than mere literal imitation. Thus, I refined my micro-expressions to convey a calm, melancholic detachment. The venue was freezing, and shooting out-of-season in thin shirts and Black stockings required deep breathing to maintain focus. While demanding, seeing the finalized photos made every ounce of effort completely worthwhile—marking a fresh exploration and breakthrough in artistic Photography.
