For today's Kal'tsit styling, a lot of thought went into everything from hair and makeup to costume coordination. In reality, light yellowish-green long hair is quite unforgiving of skin tone, so I specifically adjusted the foundation shade, using cooler, fairer undertones to balance the hair color and make the overall visual harmony work. The wig material has a subtle sheen; to make it look more natural, I smoothed it out with a hair straightener beforehand and trimmed the bangs three times to achieve the current length, which just barely covers the eyebrows.

For eye makeup, since the character wears Green colored contact lenses, I used earth-toned eyeshadow as a primer and deepened the outer corners with grey tones to make the green irises pop. I applied single-cluster eyelashes so they would look natural and not overly dramatic. The animal ear accessories are grey-black plush with yellow inner ears; they were a bit flat when they arrived, so I fluffed them up with a hairdryer. After putting them on, I adjusted them for about ten minutes to ensure the seams between the ears and the wig didn't look jarring in this Kemonomimi cosplay setup.

Costume-wise, this outfit has plenty of details. The neckline features black-and-white geometric patterns, layered beneath a light-green scarf textured with a grid weave. The white cape has fantastic drape, but the fabric wrinkles easily, so I made sure to steam it smooth with a garment steamer before shooting. The black leather wristwatch on the wrist and the harness strapping on the back inject a sci-fi techwear aesthetic into the overall ensemble. To complement this styling, I tried posing with my hands crossed over my chest, keeping my gaze composed and steady without superfluous expressions.

The shooting location was a relatively minimalist indoor environment decorated with dry branches in the background, where greyish-white ambient light conveniently accentuated the character. We avoided complicated lighting setups, using a softbox for key light and adding a reflector on the side to fill in shadows. Such simple lighting truly tests skin condition, but thankfully thorough pre-makeup moisturization allowed the resulting skin texture to look delicate and smooth.

In fact, whenever cosplaying characters with unconventional, vibrant hair colors, significant time must be spent balancing the color ratios of the makeup. Sometimes, if the hair color is too bright, it drains vitality from the face, tempting one to add more blush; however, considering Kal'tsit's persona in Arknights, I opted for a restrained approach, using only low-saturation apricot blush. Although the process was meticulous and tedious, seeing the final images made every minute spent feel worthwhile.

The garment fabrics are quite sophisticated: the outer white cape carries a subtle satin sheen, creating a gentle diffuse reflection under indoor lighting. Meanwhile, the green-and-black spliced neckline on the inner layer incorporates a subtle mesh grid texture, preventing it from appearing visually flat. To make the entire look more cohesive, I specifically paired it with the black leather wristwatch. While these minor details might seem subtle, they greatly elevate the image's dimensional richness.

Many friends have asked how to secure accessories for characters with animal ears in Kemonomimi cosplay. Aside from bobby pins, transparent straps and safety pins are essential to pull the center of gravity of the ears toward the center of the head, preventing them from flopping to the sides during extended shoots. As for wigs, light shades can easily make the complexion look dull, so the base makeup must be translucent and radiant without looking cakey. I used lightweight liquid foundation throughout, paired with setting spray to ensure makeup stayed intact during the long session. Communicating with the photographer is also key: under certain angles, synthetic wigs can reflect light like plastic, so trying side-backlight or natural diffuse lighting yields the most natural hair texture.

Overall, I feel the completion of this styling is quite solid. If the opportunity arises in the future, I might try incorporating more props on this foundation to enrich the scene even further for my Anime cosplay works.
