For this convention shoot, I chose to cosplay Saber Lily from Fate/Grand Order. When it comes to this character, what everyone is most familiar with is probably not only her pure white knight outfit, but also the signature Takeuchi Pose drawn by Teacher Takashi Takeuchi. In the photos, I am resting my right hand on the sword, lifting my left leg backward, with my entire center of gravity pressed heavily on my right leg and core. This pose looks effortless, but striking it is actually very strenuous. To be able to stabilize in front of the lens, I practiced single-leg balance in front of the mirror at home for a long time, ensuring that the angle of my open shoulders and the slight tuck of my chin were both just right to present that poised sense of extension. The prop sword is custom-made and quite heavy; holding the hilt with one hand while resting it on the ground, and ensuring my upper body remains upright and steady, is no small test for the strength of my arms and shoulders. In terms of clothing, the tailoring of this white sleeveless dress is very exquisite, with a black bow tied at the neckline, and the black line decoration on the chest adds a rugged knightly feel to the pure white clothes. The skirt hem features multi-layered fluffy pleats with black piping on each layer, showing distinct layers when moving. To match this dress set, I chose Black stockings and black chunky-heeled high heels, which not only visually lengthened the leg proportions but also made the standing posture more stable. The hair is light golden long straight hair, paired with a black hair accessory on the right side, and the bangs are trimmed flat. After wearing white gloves, finger tactile sensation becomes duller, so I must be more cautious when holding the sword. The booth background is a blue starry sky and character standees, and the on-site lighting is intense, which is a huge test for the texture presentation of the white clothes and the cleanliness of the makeup. The white skirt is very easy to overexpose under strong light, losing pleat details; I was constantly communicating with the photographer to adjust the lighting positions to ensure the clear lines of the clothes. The wig was also styled before coming to prevent deformation while walking around the convention. To match the character's translucent feel, the makeup was deliberately simplified to emphasize skin texture. The metal floor made the high heels sound loud when stepped on, but for the character's temperament, I tried my best to keep myself in a quiet and focused state. Doing cosplay is not just about putting on clothes, but a comprehensive restoration of clothing details and physical postures and actions. Although the dress easily creases, the sword has significant weight, and walking in the convention hall for a long time wearing Black stockings causes leg fatigue, seeing the layers of the white skirt hem and the crispness of the black lines in the final photos makes all the efforts worthwhile. From clothing pattern-making to prop assembly, polishing every detail is meant to present the best state in front of the lens. Successfully capturing the Takeuchi Pose this time required both thorough prior preparation and seamless cooperation with the on-site photographer.
