For this shoot of Chisa from Wuthering Waves, I chose a neatly structured classroom setting, primarily wanting to bring out the contrast of the character within an everyday life environment. Wardrobe-wise, this long gray-blue trench coat inherently features straps and cutout designs, paired with a dark navy sailor collar and tie to create unique visual layering. To stay true to the character design, I wore a long straight black wig with blunt bangs and red contact lenses, tying a red ribbon onto the left side of my hair. The lower half was styled with a dark pleated skirt and knee-high Black stockings, which also served as a signature highlight of this look.

A classroom setting truly tests overall composition and lighting. To avoid looking like generic snapshot photos, I put considerable thought into pose choreography. For example, sitting atop a school desk with legs bent leveraged the edges of the desk into a natural geometric frame, while the texture of the Black stockings stood out beautifully under the classroom illumination. Another pose involved leaning against a chair back with one foot propped onto a desk; while appearing effortless and languid, keeping the core engaged was essential to maintain a posture that felt organic rather than stiff. Holding a pen against my forehead or casually fiddling with chalk pieces gave my hands natural placement points, avoiding awkwardness.

The chalk writing and doodles on the blackboard were deliberately hand-drawn beforehand. The left side featured math formulas and coordinate axes, while the right side had simple sketched cat heads, hearts, and Japanese vocabulary. Placing an anime character into an everyday school setting creates a wonderful cross-dimensional collision and enriches the photos with details inviting closer interpretation. Potted plants and a wooden calendar ornament on the podium served as convenient existing props. Wearing a black choker and holding a language textbook to conceal half of my face while gazing into the lens with only my eyes, this subtle obstruction actually heightened the visual intrigue of the frame.

During the shoot, lighting relied mainly on natural light filtering through the windows supplemented by indoor incandescent fill light. The white curtains acted as diffusion scrims, dispersing the light evenly; coupled with the wooden desks, the overall palette carried a faint coolness that complemented the character's persona flawlessly. I rotated through various camera angles—from eye-level frames capturing full-body attire to slight low-angle perspectives accentuating leg contours—striving to give each photograph a unique viewpoint and emotional tone. The entire shoot was remarkably efficient; the synergy between styling and location was seamless, preserving that effortless cool edge native to the original character design.
