Today's pink-and-black color-blocked catgirl styling can be said to have completely hit my preferences. When choosing this outfit, I was attracted by its sense of design; the large black bow at the neckline paired with ruffles gives it that girlish cuteness while carrying a bit of dark coolness. The outfit is from Sanjiaomao Fantuan, and I must praise that the cut is indeed superior, and the fabric feels very comfortable to the touch. Even after shooting for a whole day, I didn't feel constricted or stuffy, and wearing it out for daily life would actually be effortless.
Since it's a Final Fantasy XIV catgirl setting, I did quite a bit of homework on the styling. The wig was chosen in this relatively high-saturation pink, styled into twin braids, and the animal ears on top of the head are the finishing touch—I specially picked ones with a plush texture, and pinned small black bow hair accessories on both sides of the hairline to add some exquisite detail. In terms of makeup, to match the overall cyberpunk style, I wore blue-green contact lenses, made the eye makeup slightly deeper, and added a special small black texture under the left eye, giving the character more of that futuristic feel.
The environment setup for this studio shoot was extremely atmospheric, directly building that industrial-style metal scaffolding and pipes, and covering the floor with reflective tinfoil film. As soon as the lights hit, the light-and-shadow refraction effect came right out. The on-site neon tubes were mainly blue, cyan, and purple-pink, and the strong contrast between cool and warm tones fully maximized the sci-fi vibe. In terms of poses, to match this background, I also tried some more dynamic actions. The shot of lying sideways on the black tabletop was meant to better showcase the outfit's waist-cinching design, while taking the opportunity to show off the black stockings and the pairing with these black platform boots. The heart-shaped buckle on the boots and the metal accessories on my body were also specially selected by me, hoping to make the overall punk feel more coordinated.
When shooting this set of pictures, the biggest realization was that the pink-and-black color scheme is truly forever god-tier. The black vest and short skirt suppressed a lot of the cloying sweetness of the pink shirt, while that layer of lace and ruffles neutralized the dullness of the black. Especially when standing next to those glowing neon tubes, with the light hitting the wrinkles of the clothes, the layering is exceptionally distinct. The whole shooting process went very smoothly; the control of light and the guidance of poses allowed us to produce many satisfying final photos, accurately expressing that cute yet slightly rebellious feeling of the FFXIV catgirl. Being able to perfectly blend such a design-rich outfit into a cyberpunk scene was truly a wonderful experience.
