Preparing this bar photoshoot set for Laffey from Azur Lane, the entire focus was centered on capturing the character's signature languid and casual demeanor. In this vintage wooden bar setting, warm-toned lighting and dark backgrounds nicely set off her distinct 'sleepy yet charming' vibe, while the white-and-blue costume colorway creates a comfortable visual focal point in the frame.

The costume design itself places great emphasis on detail: the white long-sleeved top features off-the-shoulder cutouts, adding wearable realism and lightness on top of the 2D character design. The plush pom-poms on the chest and sleeves, along with the blue-and-white color-blocking, faithfully recreate the character's iconic traits. For the wig, the white twin-tail hairstyle demands meticulous maintenance; to achieve a voluminous and natural look on camera, I spent time adjusting the flow and curl of the hair strands, which, paired with the handmade white bunny ear headband, looks visually playful and lively.

To fit her half-asleep, half-awake state, I deliberately chose to sit on the bar counter beside the high stool. Crossing my legs allowed the white stockings and miniskirt to present smooth, fluid lines. The combination of off-the-shoulder styling and long sleeves creates a relaxed, photogenic aesthetic throughout the frame. Raising my hand to lightly hold the bunny ears atop my head with a slight head tilt delicately revealed my neckline, harmonizing with the staggered liquor bottles and metallic barware to deepen the bar's immersive ambiance.

In such a vintage photoshoot setting, the prop selection and the lighting technician were immensely helpful. Warm yellow key lighting paired with side fill light rendered skin texture translucent while casting soft highlights across the white wig strands. The heavy wooden grain of the bar counter added aged depth to the photos, forming an intriguing visual contrast with the character's youthfulness and vitality. During shooting, I made a conscious effort to keep my gaze and posture naturally relaxed, avoiding overly rigid poses.
