Shooting this outdoor set of Asuma Toki from Blue Archive at Langyuan turned out far better than anticipated. The red brick walls around Langyuan boast incredible texture, with sunlight carving soft, organic light-and-shadow transitions that make for an ideal backdrop. I chose this location because the warm tones of the brickwork create a clean, crisp color contrast against the navy blue uniform.

For the wardrobe, I prepared a navy knitted cardigan layered over a white button-up shirt, tied with a light-blue necktie at the collar, paired with a navy pleated skirt, White stockings reaching the knee, and chunky black platform loafers. The fabric weight suited outdoor shooting well and resisted noticeable creasing. The glowing blue sci-fi halo atop my head was the centerpiece prop for this shoot; in outdoor conditions, finding the right angle was crucial to keep bright backgrounds from washing out its luminous glow, and gently underexposing the background helped the halo's high-tech flair pop. The wig was long, straight blonde hair with a braid along the right side; the bangs required pre-trimming and styling, or they easily appeared frizzy under backlighting.

For makeup, light-colored contact lenses recreated her cool-toned gaze, balanced with slightly heavier under-eye blush and targeted highlights to sculpt three-dimensional facial contours on camera. We scheduled the shoot around 4 to 5 PM when the sun hung low, casting side-backlight across my hair strands and shoulders to trace a lovely golden rim. Because ambient temperatures leaned warm at that hour, shifting white balance one or two notches cooler in-camera helped faithfully restore the crisp colors of the blue-and-white uniform.

During the shoot, I happened to buy an egg pancake from Huayan Street, initially intending it as a post-shoot snack. Once I held it in my hand, it matched the scene surprisingly well, so we spontaneously turned it into an interactive prop. Snapping candids while eating fostered an effortless, relaxed state that never looked stiff or staged. The orange packaging of the egg pancake stood against the deep navy garments, naturally forming a vibrant focal point. Langyuan offers rich compositional options—using the vanishing lines of brick walls as leading lines or leaning casually against the masonry with a low upward tilt visually elongated leg lines while showcasing the proportions of the skirt and White stockings.

Outdoor photography ultimately tests an eye for ambient light and real-time adaptability. Langyuan boasts a wonderful 2D ACG atmosphere, and meeting fellow hobbyists along the way made the shoot progress smoothly. Wearing comfortable footwear during outdoor sessions is essential, as scouting camera spots on foot takes considerable stamina. The synergy between styling and location was remarkably cohesive, and I hope the final photos bring everyone a refreshing visual experience.
