Dusk offered the golden hour of light, during which we captured an angelic look beside an open lawn. Pastel blue curls crowned with a golden halo and feathered wings on my back made for an exquisitely heavy-duty ensemble. To highlight the layered textures of the wings, the photographer and I spent considerable time aligning positions and backlighting angles. Finally, there was a brunette explorer look wearing a bunny-eared straw hat while holding a yellow camera and canteen, which felt relaxed and casual. This concept was perfect for candid snaps in crowds and navigating convention aisles comfortably.
Rotating through several wardrobe changes all day while toting heavy photographic gear was a serious physical endurance test. Yet the dreamy background separation and microscopic optical fidelity delivered by shooting wide open gave purpose to every shutter click. A convention isn't just about cosplaying—it is a collaborative creative journey with the photographer.
