[Baobhan Sith cosplay] Showcasing the Charm of the Flower of Evil at the China International Comics Festival

This is the complete Convention photos record of Baobhan Sith from Fate/Grand Order. The shoot actually took place in the outdoor area of the China International Comics Festival (CICF). Because the giant hammer prop itself is massive in size and weight, it placed high demands on my positioning and center of gravity. At first, finding the right angle was tricky, but I gradually discovered the technique of supporting it with my forearm and utilizing my waist to anchor my center of gravity, which kept the hammer from looking clumsy. To better present the design of this outfit for the lens, engaging the leg muscles was crucial. Paired with White stockings featuring mesh textures and platform high heels, it effectively elongated my visual proportions. The short red hair paired with the white plush hooded headpiece, along with the wave-patterned red-and-white top and pleated red skirt, created an exceptionally bright and vivid color palette. Under the outdoor natural sunlight, the skirt hem and the mesh texture on my legs had wonderful definition.

During the shoot, the photographer constantly searched for angles on site to avoid the dense crowds as much as possible, using depth of field in the background to make the character pop. For recreating this costume faithfully, the key lay in the oversized plush hood and the black-and-white mask pattern on the hammer, requiring patient alignment of every detail. Furthermore, the midriff-baring design of this outfit is quite delicate, requiring an upright posture to showcase clean silhouette lines. Before each shutter click, I reset my breathing to ensure the poses looked effortless and relaxed. With plenty of ambient noise at the convention venue, complete concentration was needed to stay in character. The white plush jacket and red skirt have contrasting fabrics—the plush catches dust easily while the red skirt wrinkles easily—so we tidied up the costume every few takes to ensure consistency for subsequent shots.

The props brought along were far from light, and walking in roughly 10 cm high heels required extra caution. The shoot happened during the afternoon under fairly harsh direct sunlight, yet it cast a sparkling, translucent luster over the crimson hair—an irreplaceable advantage of outdoor convention shoots. Despite enduring harsh highlights and heat, seeing this outfit faithfully capturing the character's traits in the photos gave me a great sense of accomplishment. While organizing this set, I once again marveled at how the White stockings served as the perfect finishing touch—not only flattering the leg lines, but also harmonizing with the white plush hat and white jacket. Under the sunlight, the entire look felt lively and dynamic rather than heavy.

To express the character's subtly mischievous, confident, and captivating demeanor, we designed poses utilizing the prop to create contrast—such as shouldering the giant hammer while turning slightly, or holding the hammer horizontally across the chest. This emphasized the presence of the lethal weapon while making the character herself appear more petite and nimble. Our on-site synergy was seamless; capturing such clean backgrounds amidst the bustling crowds was all thanks to the photographer's professional attitude and patient guidance. The red-and-white palette combined with the black giant hammer was an absolute eye-catcher in convention passersby's lenses. Ultimately, I'm thrilled to have completed this set within such a vibrant convention atmosphere while experiencing the thrill of wielding a heavy weapon. Looking back, while the process was demanding, seeing the final results made every effort worthwhile. As a dedicated collaborator with the photographer throughout this China International Comics Festival shoot, it was a truly fulfilling experience.
