I made quite a lot of preparations in advance for this Raffaello cosplay shoot. Starting with the costume, the overall white bodysuit is full of design sense; the stand-up collar looks neat, while the bright pink decoration on the chest and the black crisscross straps with metal star buckles at the waist form a strong visual contrast. Below the collar is a small green, white, and red logo. The lower body is paired with a light green translucent layered mini skirt with subtle pleating at the bottom, matched with white stockings. The overall color scheme leans towards refreshing, standing out vividly against the red background. For this outfit, I specially styled this bright green long straight wig with gradient yellowish highlights at the ends, and the blunt bangs better flatter the face shape. In terms of makeup, a classic anime style was adopted, applying a large area of pink blush under the eyes and on the cheeks to boost the energetic vibe. The bunny girl headband is the focal point of the entire styling—white ears with black tips, bright pink interiors, and a golden star decoration at the base, instantly making the style lively once worn.
The shooting scene was set up in a retro yet party-vibe space. The background consists of red pleated curtains with a reflective disco ball hanging above, casting numerous tiny light spots on the wall when the light hits. During the shoot, I used a deep red velvet sofa as a support point. Holding a paintbrush with a yellow handle in my right hand, I posed and interacted in front of the lens. To add visual layers, a black top hat and a stack of books were prepared on-site, with a few red-and-black color-matched balloons floating nearby.
During the shooting process, I tried different postures. Kneeling on the sofa nicely showcases the layers of the skirt and leg lines, and raising the left arm elongates the visual proportions, keeping the frame from looking too rigid. In terms of facial expressions, some shots feature smiling at the camera, while others look to the side. The coordination of gaze and hand gestures is very important—for instance, holding the paintbrush horizontally in front of the face or passing a card toward the camera helps shorten the distance with the viewer. The waist-cinching design of the white bodysuit combined with the black crisscross straps shows off a great curve from the side profile. The translucent mini skirt and white stockings look exceptionally brilliant against the backdrop of the red curtains.
Although the studio lighting is relatively bright, the combination of the disco ball and curtains still manages to create a hint of a retro prom atmosphere. To ensure the props and costumes presented their best state in the frame, the aperture and position were adjusted several times. The bright yellow of the paintbrush and the bright pink of the hair accessories played a great embellishing role in the frame. The material of the clothes has a slight sheen under the light, which perfectly highlights the texture of the fabric. This was a very happy photography experience, with all elements blending together just right.
