[Noshiro cosplay] A Glance of Black and White at the Itasha Exhibition

For this shoot at the Itasha exhibition, I chose Noshiro from Azur Lane, and the entire workflow went exceptionally smoothly. Hair, makeup, and wardrobe took dedicated preparation; the black-and-white maid dress paired with her signature red-and-white horns was instantly recognizable in a car show setting. The lighting was much better in the afternoon, so we arranged to frame shots around the front of the vehicle.

The fifth photo, where I'm seated on the hood of the red sports car, is my personal favorite composition. The photographer had me angle my torso slightly, using crossed legs and high heels to elongate the silhouette, creating an intense visual contrast between the sheer black stockings and the red Itasha paint. To accentuate body lines and garment tailoring, I continuously regulated my breathing to maintain an upright, poised posture while resting an arm naturally against the hood, which looked relaxed and integrated seamlessly with the car's contours.

The subsequent photos beside the blue car felt a bit more casual, primarily leveraging soft diffuse bounce light to highlight skin texture. For the in-car shot where foreground obstruction occurred, a wide aperture blurred out the photographer's arm, adding a pleasant sense of spatial depth. Noshiro's character design offered ample room for creative expression, and the Itasha's custom livery harmonized neatly with the overall wardrobe palette. The photographer constantly adjusted angles—including camera height and eye-line—to capture flattering curves across the legs and upper body. The weather was lovely, and the sunlight reflecting off the car hood and stockings was just right, giving the photos high translucency. Post-processing focused mainly on harmonizing skin tones and preserving ambient light and reflections. As a cosplayer, encountering the right Itasha setup to shoot alongside always feels like a blessing, especially for an elegant character like Noshiro, where pairing with a sleek vehicle elevates the atmosphere to perfection.
