Bringing this styling to life at the Bilibili World Sony Booth took immense dedication from initial preparation to the actual convention floor (cosplay & Convention photos). For the White dress with cat ears ensemble, I deliberately selected a fabric with a subtle pearlescent satin sheen, knowing the Sony booth background was packed with crystal flower props casting iridescent refractions under complex, radiant lighting. To avoid looking washed out under intense floodlights, the dress featured gathers at the bust, pleated hems, and a cinched waistline to sculpt a fluid, flattering silhouette. For hair, I chose a cool-toned pastel pink wig paired with white cat-ear hairpieces, visually echoing the white angelic wings.
The greatest challenge was coordinating the clear platform high-heeled sandals with white lace thigh garters and hosiery. Convention venue floors are notoriously difficult to navigate; while platform heels add height and visually elongate leg lines to achieve that Stockinged long legs aesthetic, shooting required pointing my insteps taut while posing on a high bar stool to define flattering contours. People often remark on towering leg proportions, but it's largely about low-angle upward framing, shifting bodily center of gravity, and extending one leg forward or crossing them slightly to leverage wide-angle lens distortion for maximum visual elongation.
The white gloves were another thoughtful nuance, slimming the arms and lending an airy grace alongside the wings. In terms of makeup to complement the pink hair, both eyeshadow and blush were selected in muted, desaturated pinkish-purple tones paired with violet-blue contact lenses to keep my eyes luminous and expressive under fierce booth lights. Before heading out, I curled the wig with a curling iron; conventions get breezy with heavy foot traffic and AC vents, so nearly half a can of hairspray was needed to keep that airy volume without getting messy.
The atmosphere at Bilibili World was incredible, filled with infectious passion from fellow attendees—that magical intersection between the 2D world and reality is truly exhilarating. While shooting, I focused on keeping my shoulders back, chin slightly tucked, and gaze harmonizing with the dreamy lighting. To prevent the wings from looking heavy or dragging down my posture, my core had to stay engaged the entire time. Sitting on a high bar stool was honestly more exhausting than standing, requiring constant vigilance to maintain an upright, poised posture. The lighting design at the Bilibili World Sony Booth was exceptionally professional; as ambient hues shifted, the sheen of the skirt and the prismatic reflections off the crystal props blended seamlessly.
Even though moving around the exhibition hall in this gear was taxing—and the wings easily bumped into passersby in tight crowds—the instant I saw the Convention photos, every ounce of struggle melted away. Every time I step onto a stage or pose before a booth, looking down the camera barrel pulls me fully into character, making me forget the ache in my arches. A convention is truly a magical sanctuary where imagination transforms into reality.
