The heart of Komeiji Koishi lies in her closed third eye and that uniquely pure yet wandering demeanor. To faithfully convey the mood of 'Closed Eyes of Love,' I poured immense effort into cosmetic styling. The eye makeup pivoted around a high-contrast clash of red and green—vivid emerald contact lenses paired with diffuse crimson eyeshadow, striving to evoke an uncanny, otherworldly aura before the lens. For the wig, I selected an aqua-blue hue with subtle turquoise undertones that revealed delicate shifts in depth beneath natural daylight. The wide-brimmed black hat trimmed with lavish tiers of lace served as the soul of the silhouette, grounding the volume of the hair while deepening the character's mysterious presence.
The wardrobe carries substantial, lavish heft. The golden blouse gleams with a rich metallic sheen, edged in crisp black lace and anchored by an oversized bright yellow bow at the neckline as the visual centerpiece. The voluminous skirt cascades in multi-layered gathers embellished with massive cyan roses; wearing it felt surprisingly heavy, requiring careful arrangement whenever walking or sitting to guarantee every fold and ruffle draped to perfection. The custom blue ring accessory mounted along my back reflected crystalline highlights beneath the sunlight, injecting a vibrant splash of color against the deep green undertones of the skirt.
The photoshoot took place in a sun-drenched conservatory surrounded by lush greenery, centered around a piano. Photographer Xigua mastered the ambient light effortlessly, utilizing intense natural light from the right to forge dramatic backlit flares and luminous halos. Perched upon the piano bench—right hand grasping the floral wand while the left grazed the keys—I had to continuously micro-adjust my arm angles to prevent the billowing sleeves from obstructing the keyboard or the back-mounted blue ring. Surrounding foliage and daisies provided organic foregrounds and depth of field, infusing the frame with warm, vibrant vitality. Sunlight filtering through the leaves brushed over the fabric petals of the cyan roses with delicate fidelity. Because the train was sprawling and dense with lace, every postural tweak required recomposing the shot, while I kept my spine straight to ensure the blue ring stood out clearly. Demanding as it was, seeing light dance across the metallic fabrics made every second worthwhile.
Since I handled the styling, makeup, and post-production independently, my early preparation already accounted for color-grading intentions. The final look pairs warm daylight with rich saturation; during retouching, I focused on preserving the crisp translucency of the greens and the lustrous depth of the golds, while carefully sculpting facial chiaroscuro so my features remained sharp despite strong rim backlighting. Though managing the garment's mass and holding steady balance required great physical exertion, exploring this dense, ornate visual aesthetic was deeply gratifying. Polishing every minute nuance was my way of honoring the character and bringing her dimensional truth to life.
