Preparing this look for Adult Cartethyia cosplayer in Wuthering Waves took significant thought and planning right from pre-production. The colossal greatsword prop was the centerpiece of the entire photoshoot; to capture the blade's translucent, frosty texture, I consulted repeatedly with the prop maker on materials, ultimately deciding to combine acrylic with internal LED lighting. Crafting the thorny vines entwining the hilt was extremely intricate and far from lightweight; holding it continuously throughout the shoot was quite a trial for my physical stamina and arm strength.

The layering of the costume is richly textured, creating striking contrast between the dark underlayer and the translucent blue outer gauze, whose golden embroidery along the edges and cascading drape required ongoing adjustments during the studio shoot. To complement the elf ears and the pointed horn headpieces, I opted for a cool-toned makeup palette, using blue contact lenses to amplify the character's cool aloofness. For the wig, I selected a pale blonde shade with gentle waves at the tips; on set, paired with high-powered fans to billow the hair strands backward, combined with particle post-effects, the overall ambiance leaned even deeper into the Fantasy realm of 2D aesthetics.

Because we shot against a pure white cyclorama background, lighting required extraordinary attention to layering and depth. The key light was kept soft, while side-backlighting etched the character's silhouette and the fine edges of the hair. To make the subject pop while preserving delicate garment textures, I experimented extensively with posing. The right hand holding the greatsword needed to remain rock-steady, while the left arm extended outward to balance the composition, giving the sheer blue gauze sleeves ample room to showcase their elegance. Standing for hours in transparent high heels was exhausting, yet I persevered for overall proportions and visual impact.

Throughout the session, we took dozens of takes just to capture the optimal flutter of the gauze skirt. Coordinating how to make the hem look natural and fluid without obscuring the leg lines took continuous dialogue with the photographer. The placement of the gaze was equally critical—it couldn't be overly fierce, yet needed to retain the character's detached solitude. Through this process, I constantly regulated my breathing and bodily angles, striving to make every nuance faithfully recreate the canonical atmosphere.

When the final edits came out, I was very satisfied with the chiaroscuro lighting and color rendering; both the tactile presence of the greatsword and the diaphanous sheer texture of the skirt were faithfully captured. Looking back at the cuts, however, I feel there's still room for growth in dynamic tension. At certain angles, engaging core strength more effectively to anchor my center of gravity might have delivered an even more commanding presence. This shoot provided invaluable experience in handling oversized props, and I look forward to managing choreography and stamina allocation with even greater ease next time in my cosplay journey!
