[Bloody Queen Bella Donna cosplay] The cool elegance and magnificence of retro court style

For this Bella Donna cosplay, a lot of effort was put into everything from the makeup to the clothing details. Overall, I wanted to present a retro, noble, and slightly melancholy classical doll texture, so during the preparation stage, the focus was placed on material collisions and color unity.

The core of the costume is a white off-the-shoulder classical gown. To fit the setting, the upper body uses a satin material with a certain luster, and is hand-sewn with a large number of three-dimensional white flowers, lace embroidery, and pearl accessories. This heavy-duty design is very photogenic in front of the lens, but the wearing process is also quite cumbersome. The light blue straps at the neckline echo the lace edges on the chest. To make the dress silhouette crisper, a layer of thin tulle is supported inside, paired with translucent polka-dot puff sleeves, creating a very light sense of layering when walking.

In terms of makeup, to match the blue contact lenses, the eye makeup adopts a pink-toned smudging, and deepens the depiction of the lower eyelashes and aegyo-sal, creating a doll-like depth. Tear-drop shaped glitter flakes are specially pasted below the outer corners of the eyes as tear-diamond decorations. The base makeup requires extreme whiteness and cleanliness, so the pre-makeup moisturizing and setting steps were done very carefully to ensure the skin still presents a delicate matte texture under strong light. For the lips, a relatively gentle bean paste color was chosen to avoid overwhelming the rest of the look.

The wig part is dark brown twin-tail ringlets, with bangs left in front of the forehead to modify the face shape. The head accessories are extremely complex; the silver metal-textured hair crown features butterfly and branch-and-leaf elements, with multiple strings of pearl accessories hanging in front of the forehead, swaying gently when walking. White feathers are inserted on both sides of the top of the head, adding some lightness and ethereal feel to the heavy overall styling. The layered pearl necklaces on the neck, along with the choker featuring a golden crescent moon shape, are key to enhancing the magnificence of the frame.

During the shoot, to highlight the texture of the costume and the contours of the character, we adopted strong front highlights hitting the face and collarbone, and chose pure black or dark gray for the background. This high-contrast lighting greatly tests expression control, because any shadow will be magnified. Fortunately, in the final image, the reflection of the satin, the roundness of the pearl accessories, and the haziness of the tulle were all well restored.

The pink lace hollow-out mask held in the third photo is an important prop. Its color slightly breaks away from the overall cool tone, forming a great visual focal point in the hand. When posing, I deliberately maintained the softness of body movements, and my gaze tried to present a calm yet profound state, attempting to capture that aloof and approachable temperament. During the process of shooting this set of photos, just adjusting the wrinkles of the skirt hem and the position of the headwear took a lot of time, but seeing the texture of light and shadow in the final photos, it feels like all the early polishing was worth it.
